"There was an attack." I announce, forcing my voice to sound composed.

"What?! Is Jungkook safe?"

I glance towards Jungkook and nod even though Hoseok can't see me.

Jungkook is eyeing the criminal nervously from his spot, still coping with the fact that he was attacked twice in two days.

The words he said to me that night...I'm just starting to understand just how much he's suffering from this.

"He's okay. I need you to come and escort him home. I- I shot a woman." I breath, struggling not to lose it.

"What?" Hoseok's tone is cold, and I feel slight despite in his voice.

"I- the guy I caught, he disguised her as him. I didn't think. It was stupid of me. And I thought it was him. So....I-I shot her." I know my voice sounds as distressed as I am but I try to control it as much as I can.

I feel a sigh of relief through the phone.

"Hyejin, first of all, you caught the guy. That's a good thing. I'm on my way to get Jungkook. While you wait for the emergencies, press on her wound, check that she's still breathing, check her pulse." Hoseok speaks kindly and I hear the car doors closing through the phone.

He's on his way...I allow myself a small sigh of relief.

There's a short silence before he speaks up again.

"Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" I glance at my leg, wincing at the sight of it.

"Um, it's not too bad." I lie. I might be hurt, but I won't die. I can't say the same for Jungkook's secretary...

"Okay, well, I'll be there really soon."

We hang up and I call the police up to take away our prisoner which Jungkook knocked out as soon as he gave signs of waking up.

I mentally praise him for his reactiveness.

The police rush in short minutes later, taking away the criminal and my heart sinks when I see Jang Hoon standing by the man I disarmed. I wish I could just leave with him, resume my job. It was dangerous but not that distressing.

His eyes find me and fear appears clearly on his face.

The emergencies rush in too and take over, taking care of Jungkook's secretary.

I tell them everything I know, everything that happened, before they rush out, carrying the woman on a stretcher. I pray all the angels in the world that she makes it.

How am I ever going to live with myself if she dies?

I feel so stupid.

I feel like a monster.
