Apparently I accidentally marked the story as finished, I didn't mean to, sorry for everyone I confused with this!
Also, I absolutely love all your support, I still read every single comment and it's the biggest motivation, so thanks!

. . .

In the late evening Regulus had just left the bathroom and ran into Remus and James chatting in the hallway. He halted, unsure how to act but James immediately smiled as he spotted him and pulled him over.

Remus' eyes switched between the two and he exhaled heavily.
"Well, I'll go to bed now. You should too, Regulus, or you two might get in trouble with your brother." He chuckled and looked at him with a knowing expression.

"Nah, he definitely prefers to stay with me," James grinned and dragged Regulus into his room. "Good night, Moony," he added before he waved and Remus turned away from them, shaking his head amusedly.

"James, you know you're making me extremely uncomfortable with this," Regulus muttered and closed the door behind him.
"I'm just stating the obvious," James said lightly and began to undress.
"It's still not fair to me! You're just assuming I'm okay with all of this but I'm not!"

"All of this?" James asked and stopped in his movements.
"I don't mean it like that," Regulus mumbled and stripped off his clothes. He looked up and noticed that James was simply watching him.
"Really," he added and walked over to the bed where he sat down on the mattress. "I just... I don't know if I'm okay with this, yesterday I was still there and now I'm here and you expect me to—and even in front of them and—" He interrupted himself.

James sighed and finally moved, joining Regulus on the bed.
"I don't expect anything. But what are you trying to tell me? Do you want distance again? Am I a problem to you?"
"Forget it," Regulus muttered and shifted into a lying position.
"Why did I ever think you'd be less complicated now," James sighed and lay down on his back, staring at the ceiling.
"I'm not—hey, that's a mean thing to say!"
"It's not, it's literally a fact. Reg, you—" he interrupted himself when Regulus nudged closer and placed his head on James' chest.
"What are you doing?"
"No, keep talking," Regulus said and inhaled James' scent. This was so much better.

"Okay, uh," James began and placed one hand on the back of Regulus' head, playing with his curls.
"You're..."
He pulled Regulus' body on top of his and wrapped his arms around him closely.
"Hmm, never mind."

Regulus chuckled. "Okay," he muttered and closed his eyes. This was simply amazing and the heat coming from James' bare skin made him feel incredibly safe.

...

Regulus was the first to wake up in the morning and he felt more rested than he ever did in the last month. He felt amazing.
He slowly opened his eyes and lifted his head. He felt very warm, almost too hot but he didn't care.
It was perfect.

For a few seconds he watched James. He was still asleep and looked so utterly at peace it put a smile on Regulus' face. What a view.

After some time he rested his head again and in this position he was able to listen to James' heartbeat.

"Mhhh," James hummed after a while and moved slightly under Regulus. He blinked a couple of times, opened his eyes and immediately began to smile. "Good morning, love."
"Hey," Regulus whispered.
"Would you mind if we stay like this forever?" James muttered.
"Probably not," Regulus responded, smiling.
"Good," James reinforced his hold of Regulus' body and pulled him impossibly close.
"Hey, let me breathe," Regulus chuckled.
"Never."
"So you want me dead?"
"Maybe," James grinned. "You could never escape me, then."
