The following week passed uneventfully. That is, until Bea heard an underclassman gushing about their tarot reading from the imposing Finn Facilier and, completely unrelated, was missing their diamond-encrusted ring. Bea brought this up to three of the villain kids only for them to pin the blame on the fourth. So, after Family Day preparations in the courtyard with Jane that afternoon, she stormed over to the residence building on the edge of campus and pounded on the door to the VK boys' dorm room.

Eros cracked the door open and broke into an easy smile when he saw Bea's pissed expression. "They told me you were on the warpath, but I had a hard time believing them. 'My lovely Rose? Giving me a piece of her mind? I just can't picture it,' is what I said."

"Eros," Bea said warningly.

"And, of course, Esme laughed like a maniac and Finn and Hugo looked at me like I was an idiot because you tell me off at least three times a week, right, Rosie?"

"Eros, you are not making this easy for me."

Eros smiled brightly. "Well, it's much more fun watching you get mad, Rosie. Your freckles just disappear when your face gets all hot like that. I love it."

Bea pushed her way into the room, deciding she was getting nothing done from outside the door. Eros lunged to pull her back, but it was too late, her eyes already landing on the pile of stolen goods between Hugo and Eros' beds. "Eros! What the hell?!" she exclaimed.

Eros bit his lip as he watched her face get even more red. "Oh, darling. You're gonna have to cool off if you want me to take you seriously. You're distracting me."

"I'm distracting you?! I just came from Family Day preparations and am headed to more coronation preparations once we're done here! I have shit to do, Eros. I can't spend all day babysitting you."

Eros took a hesitant step closer. "Tell me more about all the time you're wasting on me."

Bea crossed her arms over her chest. "You have issues."

"Oh, I'm fully aware," Eros nodded along, taking another step closer. "Who are you taking to your coronation now that you and the dick are over and done with?"

Eros' lip was between his teeth as he looked down at her from his tall stature. Bea rolled her eyes, trying to come across as uncaring despite how aware she was of their sudden closeness and his ever-apparent attractiveness. "No more tarot readings."

"Done deal." Bea turned to leave, but Eros softly caught her waist. "If you answer my question, Princess."

Bea heaved a sigh. "I'm going to coronation alone. Mother and Father think it's a better look to find an escort, but I don't give a shit. I know what I'm doing."

"And what is that?"

"I'm conveying strength and independence. I can do this on my own."
