As the Reaping ends, me and the female tribute are put into a train labeled "9" in big black print, on one side. As I look around the train, I can't help but notice the large crystal chandelier, the bright white, clean as a whistle furniture, the-
"Why hello there! It's Caspar! District 9's big guy! How's it going?", I hear someone speaking. "Oh, by the way, my name is Annora! I'm your mentor! If you need anything, just ask. I'm here to help.." I couldn't think of much to say, nor did I want to say any thing, so I mumbled "Ok thanks.." On my journey to find a place to hide away in my cabin, I walked down the hall, the red wallpaper, the nice clean white trimming on the bottom, when-BAM!
I smacked right into the other tribute. Not even 5 seconds after the encounter she apologized quietly, with a shocked look on her face. I tell her it's fine, and I should've played more attention. "I'm Caspar by the way." She quickly nods. "I'm R..Raylen." she murmurs. I open my mouth to speak, but before I could utter a word, she's gone. She bolted the COMPLETE opposite direction of me. I don't blame her, she seemed nervous enough about the whole thing. And I wasn't completely confident either. The whole train ride all I could think of was Alec and Samuel. I had to do this, for them.
As the train halted to a stop, I was pulled out by a group of crazily dressed people and presented to a white room. This room consisted of a table, a few mirrors, bright lights, and a closet full of clothes and makeup. A few people of the Capital came in and instructed me to lay down. Before I could say anything, I was being waxed, combed, scrubbed squeaky clean, and dressed in a white, fluffy robe with the number "9" on it. As they put their equipment up, they instructed me to the waiting room, where I was to sit, and wait for my stylist. As I waited I couldn't help but think about Raylen. She seemed so nervous when I last saw her. I hope she's doing alright.
"Hello, dear Caspar, you look so fresh!"
,I hear a strangely accented voice say. "My name is Everrest and I'll be your stylist, ok hun?" My stylist, Everrest, has light blue hair and eyebrows, extravagant makeup, with colors of white, gold, and blue, and a dress of the same colors! Wow! What weird outfits the people of the Capital wear! "Ok..", I murmur. Before I could say a word she's putting a cream colored dress shirt on me. And some regular black pants. I feel confused, isn't the Capital known for crazy and wild outfits? "Now Caspar, I know what you're thinking, I thought I should give you a more modest and normal look this year!", she says. I guess she saw the confused look on my face. Time passes by and she has been picking at this and that, adding things, and taking away things. "The look is complete, Caspar! There's a mirror to the left to go check it out!" As I walk to the mirror I find that she has given me a crown, woven from wheat, like that of a king! She has given me a woven cape as well as tan dress shoes. And just a button down dress shirt and dark brown pants. I wonder what Raylen looks like, I wonder...
"Well, do you LOVE it?",Everrest asks me. "Uh yeah." I reply. "It really represents District 9, don't you think, with all of the wheat, and grain, and such?" Everrest says cheerfully. "Yep..",I say quietly. So many things are whirring in my mind, it's the only thing I can say.
