Chapter 23: Promises

Your pov

I paced the floor of the Big House. 

"Y/n please calm down" Chiron said.

"Calm down? Calm down?! Percy has been gone for 8 days and we haven't been able to locate him, and you're telling me to calm down?!" I scoffed. I played with the bandage that Will gave me on my arm. 

"Jackson stop playing with your bandage and chill out! We're all freaking out" Will rolled his eyes.

I went up to him and looked in his eyes. "Don't tell me what to not do. It's not your brother's life on the line" I said through gritted teeth. I was hoping he'd back off, but of course he didn't.

He scoffed and just glared at me.

"Leo will you tell her to calm down?" Will said, not taking his eyes off of me. The nerve of this boy!

"He's right me r-"

"SHUT UP!" I yelled at both of them.

"Take some chill pills Jackson" Will smirked.

Blood rushed to my face in anger. And I punched him.

I lied in my bed staring at the ceiling. I was confined to my room for the rest of the day while Will was on kitchen duty for instigating me. I replayed the past few days events in my head. I woke up bleeding from my arm. The other 8 asked me what happened. I explained. We came back to try to pinpoint Percy's location, with no avail. I punched Will. 

Everything since I woke up went by in a blur. I didn't even know what day it was anymore. I was drifting off to an unwelcome sleep filled with nightmares when I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in" I said, without opening my eyes.

"What if I were Will?" my boyfriend came in.

"1st of all he's on kitchen duty. 2nd of all I beat him earlier, I could do it again. 3rd of all I know your knock by now." I said into the pillow. 

"So you wanna talk?" Leo sat on my bed.

"Not really" I chuckled sitting up, yawning.

He sighed and grabbed my hand, "Let's go" 

"I can't go anywhere though" 

"No, you're not supposed to go anywhere. You can still physically go" He gave me a goofy smile and I laughed.

He opened the door and he ran, I followed him, hand in hand.

It was windy outside and it blew my hair back. Leo took me to the docks and we started walking along the beach. The sun was starting to set so it made a orangish-pinkish-reddish hue across the sky.

"I love you" he said suddenly.

I looked at him and stared. I took in his features, how his lips always had an upward curve to them. How his eyes always had a mischievous look to them. I also realized how when he blushed he either started to smoke or if he didn't it would still be a deep red flush. 

He looked at me concerned, I had been quiet for minutes now. "I love you too" I smiled.

"Y/n Jackson from the moment I saw you I thought you were gorgeous. I loved the way you snored softly" I blushed. "I loved the way you looked at me. I loved the way you can think your way out of anything, but sometimes you decide to fight anyway. I love the way you think your inferior, but to me you're my world. I love you and that will never change." He pulled something out of his pocket, a velvet box. "I'll to commit to you if you will commit to me. I'll do anything for you. I'll love you forever" 

He pulled a promise ring out, "I promise to be yours if you will be mine" 

I smiled and slid on the ring . "Always"

He kissed me and it was like when we first kissed. Everything was gone, but us.

Of course someone had to ruin it, but that someone happened to be one of my best friends.

"Y/N!" Josh ran and gave me a hug. I looked at Leo who looked jealous and stifled a laugh.

"Look!" I showed him my promise ring and he smiled at me. 

"Congrats." He turned to Leo and said, "If you break your promise I will break your bones" 

"Anyway Chiron needs both of us right away!"

"Chiron? I thought I was supposed to be in my cabin?" I said at the Big House.

"I have made a decision. There will be no argument, it's for your own good for now. Besides you should both be happy" He turned to me and Josh.

"You will both be going to live with Sally Jackson, Y/n's mom, until further notice"
