Your pov

I looked out the window next to Josh. I had a million thought running in my head, I was excited to see my mom, but I haven't seen her in years. Would she blame me for Percy going missing? Was she nice? But there was one question that kept bothering me. Would she even remember me?

The taxi stopped and I tipped the driver. East 104th and 1st, Upper East Side, we were here. I bit my lip to stop from jumping around.

"You ready?" Josh asked.

"Not really" I gave a weak smile and started walking.

I took a breath and knocked. A motherly figure opened the door. She had brown hair and blue eyes, that were obscured with tears.

"Y/N!" She engulfed me in a hug and whispered to me, "I'm so sorry", over and over again.

"Mom" I sobbed.

Josh stood back awkwardly, "Hi Mrs. Jackson"

~Time skip brought to you by: All the Taurus out there~

It had been about a month since Josh and I moved in. It had also been over a month since Percy was gone. Leo came by often too see me (And to bring blue cookies back to camp, but who could blame him). My mom- that's still weird to say- was really nice. It was like I never left. Josh was more like a brother than ever to me. He was like a second son to my mom and acted like one too.

"Hey Y/n can you go get the mail?!" Mom asked.

"Yeah!" I slid on my slides and exited the apartment. I grabbed the newspaper (Wow those things are still around?!). I looked through it and saw the headline in big bold letters.

Y/N L/N-JACKSON STILL MISSING AFTER 5 MONTHS. IF FOUND PLEASE CALL: (XXX)-XXX-XXXX

"Hey what's that?" Josh took the paper from my hands. He scanned it and saw that it was my adopted dad's number. He knew what had happened at home and looked at me. He walked to the kitchen to throw it away, but:

"Josh can I see that please? Thank you" Mom grabbed it.

"Oh Y/n" She sighed, "I'll deal with it." Josh and I had told my mom what happened to me for so many years and she pitied me.

"How?" I tilted my head.

"Oh I have ways" She smirked and Josh and I laughed.

"N/n I have some news." Mom said walking in the room. "So I got the newspapers back before anyone read them." She sighed, "But you still have to go back to your adopted dad, it won't be for long just for two days. You also have to go back to school, I was able to get it so you don't have to repeat 10th grade."

I wondered who my mom was able to talk to to get this arranged, but I brushed it aside.

"Ok"

"Ok?" She said, surprised.

"It'll only be for a couple days right? So it's fine"

"Ok you'll be leaving tomorrow"

I nodded.

Time skip to tomorrow~

I took a breathe and was about to knock as Leo and Nico appeared out of nowhere. I stifled a scream.

"When I say 'I wish I would be with Y/n right now' I did NOT mean for you to shadow travel me here" Leo doubled over and a few minutes later he was fine.

"Hey Leo" I smiled

"Hey mi reina" He leaned in to kiss me, but I stopped him.

"You just threw up, you really think I'm going to kiss you" I smirked.

Leo blushed and pouted. "So you're going back? For how long?" He asked.

"Two days." I said.

"That's it?! Good" He pulled me into his arms.

"Why is that good" Nico asked, suspicious. Leo was the only one (Besides Josh and my mom) who knew about what happened to me before camp. Not even Percy knew and I wasn't going to tell him anytime soon. If he found out he would-. It hit me that Percy was still gone. Even if I wanted to tell him I couldn't.

I ignored Nico's question and whispered to them, "You guys better go."

"But-" Leo started.

"No. I love you Leo"

"I love you too" He smiled sadly and Nico grabbed his arm. "Tell me if anything happens with Percy" I said, mostly to Nico because I knew Leo would try to hide the truth for a while to protect me.

He nodded and they left. I knocked on the door.

As soon as I walked in there was a flash of light.

"Y/N"

"Y/N"

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR OVER 2 MONTHS"

"WERE YOU KIDNAPPED?"

"DID YOU RUNAWAY FROM HOME?!"

A million reporters were crowded around me and I stood shocked. How did they get in?

"Get out" My adopted dad, Lewis, yelled at the reporters.

They quickly left and Lewis grabbed my hair. "Where have you been" He growled, pulling me to the living room. I stayed quiet, I knew better. He threw the beer bottle at me, causing it to break into shards and cause cuts on my face. One was really deep and I winced. "You've gotten weaker" He narrowed his eyes.

If only you knew what I've been through. I thought.

"I found my mom" I narrowed my eyes at him.

He looked at me and pulled my hair harder. "Leave this house. You're not welcome here anymore" He spat and grabbed another beer bottle, throwing it at me, but it didn't break. It hit my head and I reeled back. I fell back, not realizing the edge of the broken counter was there. The world went black.
