Damon and the reader, his girlfriend go on a romantic date looking for Christmas Lights.

Damon and I enter the grill to see for the most part there's only 3 or 4 people hear besides us. He pulls out my barstool for me holding out his hand to help me up. I gladly accept smiling as Matt comes to take our orders. "Hey guys, what'll it be?" I hold up two fingers signaling. "Two cheeseburgers, please." Damon sits on his barstool leaning his elbows on the counter. "Two Bourbons quarter back." He nods bringing our drinks that we clinked together before taking a drink. I'd come to Mystic Falls a year ago with Alaric who is my boyfriend drinking buddy.

I'm a vampire hunter like him or at least I was until I bumped into a certain raven haired Salvatore. It wasn't hard to fall for his jokes and charm. Matt brings our food and I take a bite out of mine immediately after hearing my stomach grumble. "So I know it's not Christmas day yet but I thought I'd give you one of your presents early." Damon says reaching into his black leather jacket as I slowly take another bite of food.

He pulls out a mini light brown stuffed animal bear with a little red ordinment bell around its neck. "Awe Damon. It's so fluffy." I grin squeezing it to my chest. He smiles taking some bites of his burger. "I figured you'd like her. Considering you love Bonnie's stuffed bear Ms. Cuddles." He's right. I love her bear. When we needed to use it for a spell I always ended up sleeping with the bear in my arms. She's hard to resist.

"Oh I have an early present for you too." I reach into my Jean pocket to reveal a gold ring. With our first initials engraved on the top, I even made sure it wasn’t linked with vervain so he can wear it. “He slides it on his right ring finger smirking. “Now people will know who I belong too.” I giggle finishing off my burger since they’re my favorite food. “Was it really that hard to tell. I mean you’ve always got an arm draped over my shoulder.”

Damon lifts his Bourbon pointing his index finger playfully. “I can’t help it Y/n. You’re just so adorable I could eat you up.” He looks at the time on his phone smiling and sliding off his barstool. “Oh it’s time, let’s go!” I follow him out of the grill to his car getting in when he opens the door for me. “Time for what, babe?” He starts driving towards the middle of the town where the clock tower is still not answering my question. Where is he taking me.

Finally he stops the car quickly vamping to my side helping me out. But when I start to look up his hands cover my eyes confusing me. “Damon, what are you doing?” He simply replied leading me in a random direction for a few minutes. “It’s a surprise. Trust me you’ll love it.” After a short walk with the winter wind blowing through my hair we stopped and he removed his hands.

Blinking my eyes to adjust to the light I gasped at the beauty in front of me. Multiple Christmas trees decorate the area around the clock tower. Bright lights strung on every last tree including the clock tower it’s self. Christmas has always been my favorite time of year ever since I was a little girl. The beautiful decorated Christmas trees being my favorite part.

“Surprise Merry Christmas Y/n-“ Damon says with his arms outstretched, a big grin on his face before I jumped into his arms. Smashing my lips onto his. His arms hold me up by my thighs deeply kissing me back until I need air. “So I’m guessing you love it.”

He sits me on the ground to cup my face in his hands. “Yes, yes I love it. But not as much as I love you, Damon Salvatore.” I wrap my arms around his neck grinning as I kiss him once more. “Same here about you, Y/n L/n.” He drapes an arm over my shoulder as we take a tour around the lights show. He’s a great boyfriend.
