Kol - Afraid to Fly, not of You

Request from sessa23 on Tumblr. Kol Mikaelson x reader where he's taken the reader to protect them and he and the reader fly to the destination he's taking the reader to but the reader has a fear of flying and so kol helps them to relax.

Moving through airport security was easier now that I'm dating a vampire and no one in the airport staff is taking Vervain. The Mikaelson's insisted that I needed to be protected from Marcel who was trying to kill them all now that he wasn't sire linked to Klaus anymore. Kol knew New Orleans had become a dangerous place for me his little human girlfriend. So he bought two plane tickets to somewhere I've always wanted to go England. An hour later we're taking our seats on the plane. "There you go, darling. Have the window seat." He offers where I scooted to the last seat seeing the planes wing beside me.

"Alright everyone, preparing for take off. Buckle your seat belts and enjoy the flight." The pilots voice calls over the Entercom as I grip the arm rest. Biting my lip I feel my heart beating faster making Kol reach over with his hand. "Hey are you alright, hun. I can hear your heart beat?" His eyes drifted to me as I clutch the arm rests, pressing my back into the chair feeling the fear kicking in. Some people get a fear of spider's or something smaller but I was born with a fear of flying. My parents never made me go on an airplane so we always drove wherever we went on vacation. Now it's kinda of pathetic since I'm literally dating a thousand year old original vampire for a boyfriend. One that could drain me dry without a single care and move onto another human in an instant.

"Tell me what's wrong Y/n. Because I'll try and make it better." Kol tucks hair behind my ear turning my chin to look him in the eye as the plane engine stared up making me shiver. "I uh - I'm afraid of flying..." His Eye scanned over my face resting his other hand to my cheek. I bite my lip waiting for him to laugh at me or worse, yet he does the opposite actually. He pulled my head to lay against his chest as close as he could sit we're sitting in separate seats. "Why aren't you laughing, Kol. Isn't this silly to someone who's literally a - vampire." I mumbled the last part into his shirt hearing him chuckle. "Nothing about you is silly, darling. Don't worry I've got you." The plane lifts off the ground but I just wrapped my arms around him feeling safe in his arms.
