𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘
chapter eight.
"Please Don't Die."

For the past four hours Lilith has tossed and turned in her bed trying to fall asleep. Pulling her duvet all the way up, then all the way down, flipping her pillow- trying to get comfortable but it was no use. She stares up at her ceiling, the moonlight filling her room just enough so she can see shadows. Her mind stuck on one thing.

One person.

Derek Hale.

Something about Derek made her feel comfortable. Though she doesn't trust him completely, she wanted to. Something in her heart and mind told her he's a good guy and she needed him. She rolls over, and grabs her phone off her nightstand seeing it's 4:32 AM, meaning she'll have to get up in less than three hours for school. After multiple minutes of contemplating, Lilith gets out of her bed and leaves her room to go towards the stairs. But before she could get to the railing, she hears soft cries coming from Lydia's room, causing Lilith to quietly go that way not wanting to wake up her mom. She quietly knocks on the door and pushes it open to see Lydia sitting on the ground with her back against her bed, crying into her knees.

"Lydia?" Lilith softly calls to her sister. She slowly walks into her sister's room, shutting the door behind her. She walks towards Lydia, and crouches down to her knees so she can look eye to eye with her. "What happened? What's wrong?"

"Jackson, he um-" Lydia starts but cuts herself off, stopping a sob from escaping from her lips.

"Did he touch you?" Lilith says, raising her voice; not meaning to scare her sister. "Oh, I swear to fucking God if he touched you without your consent, or even laid a finger on you Ill murder him! And trust me Lydia, I know how to get away with it."

"No, Lilith. He didn't touch me, in any way." Lydia says as she wipes some of her tears, attempting to compose herself, but it was no use. "He um... he said I was like dad."

Compared to most fathers, Lydia's and Lilith's father wasn't the best out there. On the outside he was seen as a well put together man who had gotten a divorce only one time because as most couples, he and she fell out of love, but on the inside where people don't see, that's nowhere near true.

At a young age Lilith had walked in on her father and another woman in bed together while her mother was at work. Before she could get the chance to tell her mother or sister what she had seen, her father made her promise she wouldn't tell anyone, his words being "it'll be our little secret".

Lilith was only four years old.

She was so young, what did she know about what was right or wrong with love? She was a daddy's girl, she'd do anything he told her to do or not to do.

For the following years Lilith kept the burden of that secret to herself, along with many other secrets. By the time she was ten, she accidentally told her sister what had happened, and when their father found out it didn't end well. He made them promise they wouldn't tell their mother. As a reward for keeping his secret he'd buy them whatever they wanted: clothes, purses, pets, anything they asked for, they got it. He chose to manipulate his daughters.
