𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 chapter thirty eight. " Truth Be Told. "
After waking up to nearly a million missed calls, unread text messages, and voicemail from Stiles and Scott, even a few from Allison, Lilith realizes that she's messed up big time. Without any time to waste, the red haired teenager immediately jumps out of her bed and grabs the closest pair of shoes she can find. She quickly begins to slide on her shoes while attempting to go down the stairs. Knowing she's already late to the rave and their plan could possibly be going downhill without her knowing, she moves as fast as she can. As she gets her last shoe on her foot, she stumbles down the last few steps making her land on her knees, but that doesn't stop her, instead she quickly pushes herself off the ground and heads straight towards the garage where her car is parked. Just before she enters the garage she feels her pockets, noticing she didn't grab her car keys when she left her room. She speedily runs back up the stairs, skipping steps to quicken herself, but when she makes it to the top step she runs directly into Lydia making the twins stumble back. Barely acknowledging her sister, Lilith mumbles a fast sorry before running into her room, grabbing her keys, then back downstairs.
"Hey, Lil?" Lydia calls out for her sister, following her down the stairs.
Without stopping, "Yeah, what's up?" Lilith asks.
"I know you're about to leave but can we talk? It'll only take five minutes at most."
"Lyd's, I really wish I could but I'm already running late and if I'm anymore late then things could go really bad."
"I just really need someone to talk to right now, and no one thinks my problems are important enough to stop and listen."
"I know your problems are big, Lydia, but right now I honestly do think my problems may be slightly bigger than yours." Lilith says while walking out the garage door, heading straight to her car.
She humorlessly chuckles. "What's so much more important than taking five minutes to listen to your sister who you've been ignoring for the past week? I don't care if Scott or Allison or Stiles need you, you're always with them. The one time that I need you, you abandon me for them... again. I'm your fucking twin sister, Lilith!" Lydia raises her voice, as tears begin to form in her eyes, blurring her vision.
Lilith freezes. She stares at the keys in her hand for a second before turning around to face her sister. "Don't start this bullshit with me! I always put you first, always, ever since we were children. So don't even try to make excuses. Maybe if you didn't invalidate my feelings the other night then I'd push my friends to the side for you, but you chose to be petty; so right now, you can wait."
Just as Lilith is about to turn around and get into her car, she feels a small buzz from her back pocket. She takes her eyes off Lydia and reaches down to grab her phone,
