𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 chapter forty two. [TW: mentions of sexual assault] " Memories Coming Back. "
Lilith sits in a boring, plain room. The walls are painted a light, soft shade of brown, and the floors are a hard white tile that mostly all the rooms in the school have. Multiple bookshelves line the walls, filled with a mixture of books, some for education and some for pleasure. A single big brown desk sits in front of her, oddly clean with hardly anything on top of it. She sits in one chair that's placed directly ahead of the desk, with an empty seat next to her that's not occupied. Lilith quietly sit's in Ms.Morrell's office. After many weeks of pushing it to the side, her mother is finally forcing her to talk to her just like she's done to Lydia, only this time if she refuses to go then she'll be grounded for the rest of the school year and she can't play in the lacrosse championship.
Ms.Morrell calmly leans back on her desk, observing Lilith's body language. "Have you spoken to a professional about everything you've endured, especially the things during your childhood?" She asks, thinking back to everything she's read about the redhead in her file. "Your parents divorce, which I was told was caused by an affair your father was having. The abuse you faced, not physical, but verbal and mental. Your time in boarding school, as well as a psychiatric facility. Your sister's disappearance for a few days, she's told me that you both are very close. And also your many excused absences due to being in the hospital."
"How do you even know about any of that?" Lilith questions. She keeps her eyes locked down at her hands, playing with her rings and fingernails, unable to look Ms.Morrell in the face.
"I don't think that necessarily matters."
Before Morrell can go on, Lilith speaks up again. "Well, it matters to me. I don't like random people knowing about my life, especially if I haven't told them anything."
"Your mother and father have told me everything I know, as well as your sister." Lilith doesn't say anything more, instead she allows her eyes to scan over the books that are to her right, not wanting to look at Ms.Morrell. "Okay, Lilith, it's quite obvious you don't want to be here, more than I want to force you to be here. Why are you here if you don't want to talk?"
Because her mother is forcing her to go, just like she forced her sister to go. But Lilith doesn't say that, instead she says, "I don't want to talk about my past... it's already hard enough that I have to live with the memory of it, I don't think talking about it will make me feel any better."
Ms.Morrell nods as she slowly leans forward, folding her hands in front of her face. "We don't have to talk about anything you don't want to talk about, we can talk about whatever you want. Maybe you want to talk about your friends? Maybe you want to talk about everything that's been happening, as in the murders? Or we can simply talk about you, and how you've been feeling."
