chapter twenty seven.
"The Semi-Finals."

All friends, families and teachers gather together and take a seat on the bleachers, getting ready to watch the lacrosse game. The semi-finals. If Beacon Hills High School's lacrosse team wins this game they make it to the final championship. Everyone stays close to one another, wearing jackets, gloves, and hats due to how cold it is; the only thing keeping them warm other than the body heat from the people whom they're sitting next to on the bleachers.

Mothers, fathers, and siblings of the players on the teams turn away from the field as they see their child get slammed down into the ground, repeatedly by the defending team. They watch children get taken out of the game, and seated on the bench, barely being able to see how many fingers their coach is holding only inches in front of their face. They watch small a handful of teenagers get rolled off the field in a stretcher, being taken off to an ambulance, going to a hospital for broken and dislocated limbs.

"Come on! Is that thing even a teenager? I wanna see a birth certificate!" Coach yells at the referee, throwing his hands up in the air as he sees yet another one of his players get tackled down. He turns around, "Who or what is that genetic experiment gone wrong?" Coach asks Stiles. He walks towards the teenage boy - who's once again sitting on the bench - and takes a seat next to him, knowing he'll likely not play in the game, due to how bad he is.

"Eddie Obomowitz, Coach. They call him "the abomination." Stiles slowly nods, his eyes staying on the field, looking at both Scott and Lilith who're still playing. As he watches his two friends manage to dodge Eddie his heart quickly races for them, not wanting to see his best friends get harmed and hurt severely. Especially Lilith since she can't heal like Scott can.

"Oh, that's cute." Coach sarcastically chuckles.

Stiles leans closer to Coach, "You know, you might want to take Lilith out of the game." Stiles says, trying to persuade Coach, in hopes he'll listen to what he says and say yes- yet already knowing what his answer will be.

He laughs, "Nice try, Stilinski. She's the only one who hasn't been knocked down." He keeps his eyes on the field, watching Lilith run through two large teenage boys, just barely missing getting crushed between the two. "Let's go! That's my girl!" Coach cheers for her- he being proud of her knowing neither her mother nor father goes to her games, and Lydia is nowhere to be seen.

"Yeah, you see, we should keep it that way; make sure she doesn't get hurt so she'll be good for the finals. So... let's take her off the field." Stiles pauses, he pushes himself off the bench so he's now standing, "Lil, Come on, you're out for the game-"

Before Stiles can finish his sentence Coach aggressively grabs onto the bottom of his shirt, and forces him back down; making him stay seated. Coach's eyes make their way back to the field; when he sees Lilith has taken her attention off the game, he gives Lilith two thumbs up and a large smile, reassuring her that nothings wrong and she's still playing. "She stays." Coach sternly warns Stiles before pushing himself up and walking away from the annoying teenager.
