Chap. 3 Carina
Carina Leigha Bernard was from Michigan in the United States. She moved to England when she found out that she was a wizard. A representative from Hogwarts School of Wizardry came to her house on her eleventh birthday. Her parents had already gotten a letter in the mail. (The letters were usually sent by owl, but an owl would not have made it across the Atlantic Ocean.) So, at first, she was told that her dad found a job in England and that they had to move. After her parents told her that, she put up many arguments for why they shouldn’t leave Michigan. Her parents eventually got tired of hearing complaints from her, so they told her the truth and asked a Hogwarts representative to come to prove it. After they talked with the representative, Carina was much more excited to move to England.
Carina's mom was taking her and her three friends to her house. She was the only one that didn't grow up in a wizard family. Her friends were amazed by simple things such as her telephone and computer. When dinner came around, her mom bought pizza and the four wizards sat around the dinner table talking.
"Audrey, seriously, what's wrong? You have been really quiet." said Carina.
"Too quiet." Jaiden added.
"Honestly, I don't know. I've just had this feeling all day. I don't really know how to describe it. It's dark, but it's alert. It's almost like I can feel something's going to happen." said Audrey.
"Now you're starting to sound like me." said Calla.
"Well, you know what they say, 'you can't plan a murder out loud.'" said Jaiden.
"What are you implying?" Audrey snapped.
"Nothing! I was joking!"
"It sure sounded like…"
That was the normal Audrey versus Jaiden argument. It would always end by Carina or Calla telling them to ‘cut it out.’
“Anyway,” said Carina looking up from her book, “it says here that there were two organizations, during Harry Potter’s years at Hogwarts, against the Dark Arts. One was the Order of the Phoenix, and the other was Dumbledore’s Army. I was thinking, if the newspapers are right, what if we…”
“…became one of those groups.” Jaiden finished, “Exciting!”
Audrey looked skeptical.
“Did you even think of the dangers before you thought about this?” she asked, “This feeling I’ve been having, like something’s going to happen, well, what if something bad did happen?”
“If we don’t start it who will? “ asked Jaiden, “Harry Potter? Ron Weasley? Hermione Weasley? They’ve all had their turn. We should follow in their footsteps and fight! Let’s have an adventure! Isn’t this what you always wanted?”
There was a moment of silence until Calla spoke up.
“Wow Jaiden.” She said, “I didn’t know you could make speeches that inspiring.”
“I didn’t either.” Jaiden replied.
“We have some time before school starts up.” Said Carina, “Does anybody know where Harry Potter lives?”
