Chap. 7 Carina
Carina did go back to her house. When she apparated there, her mom was really surprised.
“Hi Cari!” she said, “You’re home early, I... is something wrong?”
“I’m going to my room. I guess I need time alone.” Carina said softly.
Carina’s mother watched her daughter walk up to her room. She could tell her daughter was upset but Carina would tell her when she wanted to. “I’ll call you down when it’s time to go.” She said as her daughter neared her room. Carina slammed her door and collapsed into her bed sobbing.
Maybe I should never have come here.” she cried, “Then I would still have good friends”
“You still do.” a voice said.
Carina looked up and saw an eagle and a fox sitting on her windowsill.
“What are you guys doing here?”Carina asked.
“We are here because you don't trust us to have your back, and a team needs trust”Audrey said. The fox stepped off the ledge and transformed into a human. “I’m sorry for yelling at you earlier.” Audrey said.
“I’m sorry for overreacting.” Carina said. The two girls embraced.
“Well this is all nice and all, but we have a train to catch in 20 minutes” the eagle said “so lets go!”
“I really need to teach you guys how to apparate, then we wouldn’t have to be so worried about being late.” said Carina.
“I am never late” Jaiden said.
“Says you . Anywho speak for yourself I on the other hand have a little problem with being on time!” Audrey smiled.
“You know what would be nice? A time turner.” added Carina
“Too bad they were all destroyed.” Jaiden said. “But lets go now!”
“Hermione Weasley had or has one doesn’t she?” Audrey inquired.
“Does nobody get the ‘lets go’?” Jaiden said.
Audrey transformed into her animagus and hopped on the windowsill. She nodded her head out the window and jumped down. Carina went down stairs to go outside. When she found her friends, she took their hands and they apparated together to the Hogwarts Express.
“I think I’m going to throw up.” Jaiden moaned.
“It always takes awhile to get used to.” said Carina, “You’ll be fine in a little bit.”
Meanwhile, Audrey sat upside down on the seat.
“Guys, we have to do something!” She said playing with her wand.
“Hey can I sit with you guys?” a voice said
. All four of them turned and looked at the door. In it stood a boy about thirteen.
“Who are you?” Audrey asked still upside down.
“My name’s Eric Grant.” he said.
“Why haven't I seen you around before?” Jaiden asked
“Are you a transfer? You don’t look familiar.” Audrey questioned
“Yeah, I transferred in from Bruxbanes” Eric explained.
“Welcome! I’m sorry we aren’t being very polite.” Carina said, glaring at Audrey and Jaiden, “Yes, you can sit with us.”
“WHAT?” Audrey said a little too loudly. She coughed and shot a questioning look at Carina, turning to sit right.
Carina kicked her, Be nice! she mouthed.
Audrey frowned, rubbing her leg and pulled her over, “We don’t know him...” She whispered eyeing the new kid.
“I know how it feels to be new. Why did you trust me right away, but not him?” Carina asked.
“I’m not sure its just... nothing. Never mind.” Audrey shook her head. That bad feeling came back as soon as the new guy walked in. There was just something about him that she didn’t really like, but what was it?
“Is it that feeling again?” Carina whispered back. The new guy looked harmless. “Maybe it’s just school jitters. You’re probably nervous.” She said before getting up and walking back to her seat by the new kid.
Audrey rolled her eyes and went back to being upside down. “So new ki- Eric... what year are you in?” Audrey said crossing her arms.
Eric looked to Carina. “The upside down thing...”
Carina rolled her eyes. “Normal.” Jaiden and Carina chorused.
“Where’s Calla? I thought she would meet us here.” Carina spoke up, looking out the compartment.
“Sorry I’m late guys I was doing some research....” Calla’s voice trailed off “Who’s this?” She asked.
“This is guy who won’t answer my question.” Audrey scoffed and pulled out a book: Advanced Potion Making Volume 6. “Found this... thought I’d read it.”
“Calla, this is Eric. Eric, this is our friend Calla.” said Carina, glaring at Audrey.
Eric waved at Calla.
“So you’ll wave to her but not dignify me with a response, Carina explain that!” grumbled Audrey.
“What’s with you?!” asked Carina.
Eric raised an eyebrow at Jaiden.
Jaiden look at him and sighed. “She’s not exactly welcoming.”
After a few more hours of craziness they finally reached the Hogwarts castle. “It really is as impressive as they say.” Eric whispered in awe.
“Welcome home you guys.” Jaiden said happily
Audrey smiled as they entered the castle. “Just the same problem every year, different houses.”
“Which house are you hoping for, Eric?” Carina asked.
Audrey mumbled “Not Slytherin...” She looked up. “Oh good luck though. Try not to think though, the hat will tell everyone your thoughts!” She snickered.
Carina glared at Audrey. Really? she thought, Come on Audrey. You’re better than that.
They all walked to their seats in their separate tables, waiting for Eric to be sorted into one of their houses.
