Chapter Forty-One

"Can we talk about something else, please?" Jin asked with his face heated, trying to avoid Hoseok and Jimin's intense stares at him.

"What's more important than sharing your night with Jungkook with us?"

"For the last time, Jungkook and I did not spend the night together-"

"I don't want to hear you lie Jin. He came home late. Did you forget that I live in the same house as him?" Jimin asks, raising an eyebrow while staring knowingly at Jin.

"He was at a party, or so he claims," Jin sighs, "but he was not with me at all. Today, he took me to school, so I got this." Jin pointed to his neck, "and no, we weren't having sex before I came to school. So stop assuming. Also, are you going to his father's event tonight?"

"Wait, what do you know about tonight's event? He told you about it?"

Jin nodded, "more than told me, apparently, I am his plus one."

"You are lying?" Hoseok's eyes widen as he stares at Jin in disbelief.

"No, I am not."

Jimin stared at both his best friends, as he tried wrapping his head around the information he was gathering from Jin, "so let me get this straight, Jeon Jungkook invited you to tonight's event as his plus one?"

"That's exactly what I just said. Can you not hear what I'm saying?"

Hoseok smiled while taking a sip of his drink, "now this is interesting."

"There must be some connection between him and you. There's more to tonight's event than just his father. In memory of his mother, Mr. Jeon hosts an annual event where new and undiscovered artists from around the world can exhibit their work and be recognized. She was an art lover and did a lot of philanthropic work, so this is something that is very meaningful to Jungkook as well as his dad. Several high-end bids are also made. The work of many artists is donated, and the proceeds are donated to organizations that Jungkook's mother did a lot of charitable work for when she was alive.

Plus one invitation has never been extended by him. Since this is a first, I had to ask for clarification. I am not familiar with something like this from Jungkook. Apart from myself, Hoseok, Taehyung, Yoongi, and Namjoon, no one else we know usually attends. Hoseok attends because he is my plus one, and those three other parents are major bidders at the event. I'm sure you're aware that Taehyung's mom and Jungkook's mom were best friends."

Jimin was sharing a lot of information that Jin was very much unaware of. In terms of knowing about Jungkook's mother, he knew little, except what he learned through some unusual experiences with Jungkook. He needed time to digest the information he was learning and wished that instead of hearing this information from Jimin, he had heard it from Jungkook.

"Wow, this seems like an important and meaningful event. Thank you for sharing with me all these details that I did not know. By the way, how are things with you? Have you talked with Namjoon or are you still trying to figure things out?" Jin wanted to change the topic; he no longer wanted the spotlight on him and Jungkook.

Jimin nodded, "I met with him after school yesterday. He's fine with me having the baby and wants to be a part of it. I was glad that he didn't push me away or even ask for a paternity test since I was worried that he would act like an asshole, but he didn't. As I told Hoseok last night, although he said he and I will figure things out, he never mentioned if he wanted to be with me.

Also, I have a lot on my mind right now. I have been ignoring Yoongi and shouldn't be, but telling him that I am pregnant hurts. It feels like everything will be ruined. I really don't know what I am doing. I still haven't told my mom yet either. Figure I need to tell her soon before it becomes obvious."
