Chapter Nineteen

"Pfft... so that's why you're asking me this?"

"What else did you expect?! I'm not some heartless mercenary you know?"

Yoshinaga who was using his trademark jacket and pants was sitting besides Funai who was also sitting on a chair behind a table with stacks of paper and a small T.V. on the right edge near to Yoshinaga, Funai was putting his feet above the desk while scouring through the papers and using his quirk to create smoke that could float, but was dense enough to hold very small items on it such as pens and stamps, Yoshinaga was looking a bit desperate but Funai was wearing a pretty cheeky grin.

"But I thought you threw away 'getting attached' long ago, mister guns and blazing?"

"That was when I thought that I was in a cycle of pain! But now---"

"Yeah, now after you met Izuku-sama when he was a few years old and found you in an alleyway bleeding out."

They were in Funai's workspace which was a simple boss room, Funai quietly snickered as he saw his colleague, no more like adoptive little brother, began to revert into the person before he had to go through hell, yes hell... and boy did Yoshinaga became a true demon slayer (REFERENCE!), a warrior that can take down any monster.

"You know, out of all the persons that you tried to get love and dating advice, you asked me? I'm single for a reason you know?"

"Well... I wouldn't ask Sakamoto-san considering she's probably going to spread the word out, and not Tagawa-san since he will probably approach it from a 'scientific angle' while Sanda-san well, I haven't been studying J.S.L. that often and the last one..."

"The last person is the one who you have a crush on."

Yoshinaga was a bit blushing and was rubbing the back of his head and Funai couldn't help but laugh a hearty laugh as he saw the old Yoshinaga returning, well only he and Izuku-sama fully knew about Yoshinaga's past while the others only knew parts of it, also about his crush, Azumi Yamashita, during his time in His research facility.

"It's just... too complicated... I thought I liked Azumi, but now the same feeling is appearing again whenever I looked at her... and it's... Argh!"

Yoshinaga was putting his hands over his face while Funai was still snickering and then pulled out a book titled '101 Ways on How to Date' and threw it which Yoshinaga caught mid air with his quirk making a red outline around it, Yoshinaga looked confused while Funai opened went back to his work.

"Really? Just reading through this book? I have pretty bad experiences with these things."

"Well, why not just ask Sakamato-san, she's the one who was in a relationship, so she might be able to help you, even though it fell apart."

"That's another reason why I didn't ask her, I'm afraid that I might bring up bad memories and---"

The sound of the door opening interrupted them both and saw Izuku who was holding Hotaru-chan in his hands, she was currently fidgeting with a cube and Izuku had glasses instead of his eyepatch, and a few vines were sprouting around his sleeping clothes, he was pretty happy which Funai couldn't help but returned the smile he was wearing.

"Yoshinaga-sensei, Funai-sensei, what are you two doing here this late? I didn't give too much work, right?"

"Not at all boss, in fact I think that Yoshinaga could---"

"Shut your mouth!"

Yoshinaga stuck his hand in Funai's mouth which earned an amused chuckle from Izuku and Hotaru just looked curiously, Izuku then let Hotaru down which made Hotaru released her grip on her quirk and the vines burst into green energy which created some fireflies while also into her green hair strikes, Hotaru then approached Yoshinaga.
