"Wake up!" a very awake Riley said at the foot of her parents' bed at 4am
"Mmhh Riley go to bed" Owen mumbled
"I don't want to" she said and climbed into the middle of her parents
"Mommy?" she tapped on amelia's back
"mom?" She asked again
"Riri..." amelia whispered "it's 4 in the morning..."
"If you love me please get up " she said
"We love you very much Riri but it is early, too early" Owen said
"Come snuggle with mommy" Amelia said and Riley snuggled with both parents and finally went back to sleep
2 hours later the alarm rang and then Owen got up
"morning" amelia said
"sorry to wake you up" Owen said
"That's okay" Amelia said
"Good luck today with the kids!" he said
"Thanks and you have a good day at work" Amelia said and Owen kissed her
Owen left for work and Amelia was able to get back to sleep for a while until
"Mom?" Ava said and Amelia didn't say anything she just picked up her daughter and put her next to her in bed,not even 10 minutes later Olivia,Liam and Leo were in bed too...normally Amelia can never sleep in the morning either she works,or one of her kids woke her up very early in the morning but this morning everyone seemed tired...
at almost 9am
"Mommy?" Olivia asked, "I know I'm the only one awake but can we go make breakfast I'm hungry"
"Sure, sweetie! Come on" Amelia said and they both went downstairs to the kitchen and then Olivia as usual took her mom's phone and put on the music "this is the life" and the two of them danced while preparing the breakfast, and these little moments are Amelia favorites,the simplest but the most beautiful
during breakfast
"Tomorrow we're going to spend the afternoon at Uncle Alex and Auntie Jo's so I want you guys to do your homework today" Amelia said
"okay mommy" all the kids said
"I don't have any homework?" Riley asked
"No sweetheart you're too little" Amelia said
"Does that mean I can go play?" she asked
"Sure!" Amelia said and Riley ran to her room.
"Ava and lulu what do you have to do?" Amelia asked.
"Reading" they said
"Finish eating and then I'll help you " Amelia said "and you boys can do it on your own or do you want me to help you?" Amelia said
"No, it's okay, mom," they said.
"So can you read this to me?" Amelia asked
"Th-is...is...a...car" she said
"That's right ava good job!" Amelia said, "And that's it girls, you're done, you can go play now good jobs girls"
"Thank you mom" they said
" you are welcome girls" She said
"Mom I didn't understand my math exercise can you help me?" Leo asked.
"Sure" Amelia answered even though she knew she was terrible at math and that she would probably be no help
"Mom, it's been 5 minutes, do you understand? Leo asked
"What is this shit...it's impossible to do" she said
"But you are a surgeon you should be good at math" Leo said
"I don't need to be good at math to operate on brains" she said
"Your dad will help you when he gets home he's good at math! Amelia said and Leo left.
"Aren't you going to say thank you?" Amelia asked
"For what? I would say thank you to dad" Leo said and Amelia laughed
"Now Liam!" she said and make her way upstairs but a eggs box fell in front of her and she slipped and fell
"Liam why?" she said she didn't need to look to see who did that
"I am sorry mommy but this is for school I have to create a container that protects an egg from falling about 1 floor" he said from up the stairs
"And you thought an egg carton might be enough?" Amelia asked
"I thought to myself what if the solution was right under my nose ? " he said
"Well, you better clean this up !" I said
"but I wouldn't have to do all this if Leo give me the thing he made when he got Mrs. Nicole" Liam said
"It's mine, it's not my fault you're not smart enough to figure it out on your own" Leo said and came down the stairs
" boys stop " I said "but Liam honey listen to me,you can do this on your own but you just need to use your brain" Amelia said and turned around to get the mail
"I've got it" Liam said "what if I'm the container?"
"Why not ? that's a good idea you could...no Liam" Amelia said and turned around and saw Liam on the stair railing and Riley putting the egg in his mouth
"You two stop! You're two are completely crazy" she said
later that day
*The phone rings*
"hello?" Riley who picked up the phone said
"Hi sweetie can I speak to amelia please?" Callie asked
"Amelia?there is no Amelia here...bye" Riley said and hung up
"what was that?" Amelia asked as she walked back into the living room
"someone asked for Amelia" Riley replied
"That was for me! That's my name" Amelia said "why did you hang up?"
"Your name isn't mama?" a very shocked Riley asked and Amelia burst out laughing
"No Riley my name is Amelia but you and your siblings call me mama because I'm your mother but the others don't call me that" Amelia said
"It's too hard to understand...I give up" Riley said and left the room she was a very sassy little girl just like her mother
"Hey I'm home!" Owen said
"In the kitchen" Amelia said
"Hi!" Owen said and hugged his wife
"I missed you today" she said
"I missed you too, how did it go with the kids?" he asked
"It was fine! Leo is waiting for you in his room so that you can help him with his math, he didn't understand" Amelia said
"You didn't understand math for 10 year olds?" Owen laughed.
"Hey!" amelia said and pinched him "this is hard and you know how bad I am at maths"
"I'll be up in 5 minutes, what about the others?" he asked.
"I helped the twins read...and Liam well Liam stays himself and almost threw himself down the stairs to test his hypothesis and Riley learned that my first name wasn't mama but Amelia" Amelia said and laughed as Owen
"We had funny kids" Owen said and laughed
"dada!" Riley jumped into his father's arms
"Hi princess" he said and kissed her head
"Kids it's time to eat!" Amelia said and quickly all the kids were in the kitchen
"Hi daddy" they said and hugged their father
"How was your day?" Owen asked them
"Pretty good" they replied
"That's good!" Owen said
