"This is ridiculous" Teddy said "completely ridiculous"
"Hey Leo will you go play with auntie jo while I talk about something important with Teddy?" Amelia said
"No mama I want to stay with you!" Leo said
"I'll come upstairs as soon as I'm done promise" she said
"Pinky promise?" he asked and held out his finger
"Do you still remember?" Amelia asked and Leo nodded his head it was a something Amelia had taught him when he was still a baby
"And yes Pinky promise" she said and took Leo's finger in hers
"Come on sweetie" Jo said and picked the little boy in her arms
"What's your problem? You were lying to me for a long time about such an important thing ?" Amelia said and now that her son was not in the same room she could finally get angry and say what she really thought
"My problem is you! You are stealing my son" she said
"She's not stealing anything from you, Leo chose her and she's always been his mother" Owen said
"and where has she been for the last 5 months?" she asked
"she's been taking care of him since he was a baby..." meredith said "she's his mother and that's it" she said and defended her sister
"So everyone is against me when I'm the one who is right!" Teddy said very angry
"Altman you are the one at fault ! You're the one who lied for 5 months" Bailey said "I didn't think you were like that, I'm very disappointed in you".
"I took care of him for five months and it's normal that I'm his mother! I live with his father, it's the logic of things, I have to be his mother" she said
"No absolutely not,you don't force things he chose Amelia, she is his mother and she has always been not you...you can buy a lot of things but not love and certainly not a child" Richard said
"But she gave up...she chose not to adopt him and wanted to be auntie Amelia!" teddy said
"I thought it would be easier for him to live with his mom and dad in the same house so he wouldn't have to move from one house to another. I wanted to protect him but I was wrong" Amelia said "I didn't know he wanted me to be his mother and if you had told me I wouldn't have missed all this and now you're the victim? You're a lot of things Teddy, a bad person probably, but not a victim at all" she said
"Oh, I'm the bad guy?" she asked. "Just so you know, I'm not a former drug addict like you and I did not killed my baby"
"That's enough, Teddy, you don't talk to her like that ! " Owen said
"And you're defending her? I'm telling you, Amelia, if you don't give me Leo, I'm going to take you both to court and I'm going to win" Teddy said
"Give him to you? But what do you think it is ? a toy that can be lent, No he is my son " Amelia said
"In court?" Owen said, "And what are you going to do? I'm the only one who's on the papers, so you can't do anything! Leo is the only one who can decide who his mother is and I think it's very clear that it's not you" Owen said
"Why are you defending her eh ? she's a drug addict I wonder how before me you could date a girl like her" she said and Leo came running and crying into the living room
"What's wrong angel?" Amelia said and totally forgot Teddy... her one and only priority was her son and no one else, so she took Leo upstairs to calm him down after all she didn't really want to hear what Teddy would say about her
"I'm going to ask you to leave" Meredith said to Teddy
"Very funny Meredith" she replied
"I'm not kidding, I live here so I decide who stays and who doesn't, after what you just said about my sister you can't stay here, I never liked you but now I hate you so get the hell out of my house" she said
"No problem, Owen, let's go!" she said.
"I'm not going with you!" he said
"Owen let's go" she repeated
"I'm not going with you...after what you just said, Teddy you disgust me I'll never be able to look at you like I did before it's over, we're finished" Owen said and left the table to go with Leo and Amelia
After that Teddy picked up Alison and left
Owen went upstairs to look for Amelia and Leo, and found Leo in the playroom with all the other kids, but still no sign of Amelia.
"Daddy!" Leo said and jumped into his father's arms.
"Hi ! Do you know where your mommy is?" Owen asked.
"No sorry daddy" he said and Owen kissed his head
"That's okay sweetheart! Go back and play I'll come and get you later" Owen said and went to get Amelia and of course when he arrived in front of her room he heard crying and he opened the door and saw her rolled up in her bed
"Amelia?" Owen said and sat down beside her on the edge of the bed.
"Go away Owen" she said
"No I'm not going to leave you alone when you're like this!" he said and pushed Amelia's hair away from her face
"Ames don't let her destroy you, you are Leo's mother and you are not a bad person" Owen said and Amelia burst into tears so he lifted her from the bed and put her on his lap and hugged her tightly...
"Why did she do that? I never did anything to her I was always nice to her when I would have the reasons to be mean to her but I didn't... she has to act like a bitch and treat me like shit for no reason,why?" she said
"I know, I know but it's not your fault, you have nothing to blame yourself for" he said
"And sorry I just called your girlfriend a bitch" she said
"She's not my girlfriend anymore" Owen said
"What ,why?" Amelia asked
"Amelia you saw how she treated you...I could never have stayed with her after that and then" he said
"And then what?" Amelia asked
"Why you broke up with Link?" Owen asked
" He wanted some serious things and I didn't" Amelia said
"You don't want serious things anymore?" Owen asked
"Just not with him" Amelia said and looked Owen straight in the eye
"You didn't answer my question" Amelia reminded him "you said you couldn't stay with Teddy after tonight and then ...but you didn't finish your sentence, and then what?" amelia asked
"Well I think I went to Teddy because it was the easiest and least risky choice but I was wrong..." Owen said
"I realized that the most dangerous choice is always the best" he added
"Are you saying that?" Amelia asked
"I'm saying that in life you have to take risks to get what you really want" he said and looked Amelia in the eyes with his hands in hers
"Fuck it" Amelia said and crushed her lips to his, Owen immediately kissed her back pretty quickly their tongues found each other and Owen was holding Amelia close to him
"I missed you so much" Amelia said when they had broken the kiss
"I missed you too babe more than anything" He said and kissed her forehead
"Can you promise me something?" she asked "That you won't let me run away, run away from us like I did before...I don't want to run away ever again and also that you won't run away either" she asked
"I promise you, if these 5 months away from you have taught me something, it's that I can't live without you" he said and kissed her
"I love you" Amelia said
"I love you too" Owen said and smiled at her.
"Can we go get Leo and just come back here after?" she asked.
"Sure" he said and they got up and went to the playroom where they saw Leo laughing out loud with his cousins and Owen and Amelia couldn't be happier, Amelia was finally with the love of her life again and also she got back her son...Amelia put her head on Owen's shoulder and Owen put his arm around her
"You see I was right" Meredith said and smiled big at the couple
"I guessed it" Maggie said
" I am so happy for her !" Meredith said
"Mommy,Daddy!" Leo said And ran to his parents.
"Hi baby!" Amelia said
"Can I stay with you tonight?" Leo asked.
"Of course and even daddy will stay" Amelia said which made her son smile even more
"Really?" he asked.
"Yes sweetheart, I'm staying with you and I'm not going anywhere" Owen said.
The three of them went back to Amelia's room and snuggled up together in front of Coco their favorite Disney...
Two years later Owen and Amelia were married again, Leo was the happiest little boy in the world and the family had even grown with the arrival of their little girl Ellie who filled them with even more happiness
