Clara woke up from her nap to the familiar sound of brakes. She leapt up and threw on a pair of tights, a skirt, and a jacket over her sports bra, considering it was chilly outside.

And the Doctor was there, leaning against the Tardis, grinning as Clara walked toward him, arms open for a hug.

She hugged him tightly. "I missed you. A week is too long!" She kissed his cheek.

The Doctor could feel himself blush. "Then come in!"

Clara obliged an entered the 'snogbox'. It was surprisingly warm inside.

"Doctor... It's really warm in here."

He laughed. "It can get much warmer. He turned the thermostat up to 37 Celsius.

"Turn it down!" Clara whined uncomfortably. She awkwardly slipped her tights off from under her skirt.

It was now 40 Celsius, and Clara gave in to the intense heat. She pulled off her jacket.

The Doctor gasped, but he couldn't tear his eyes off of Clara, who was in a little skirt and a sports bra.

She was, if possible, even hotter. It was unhealthy, how attracted he was to her when she was so barely covered.

He knew it wasn't a big deal- women ran in sports bras and booty shorts all the time. But when it came to Clara...

"Oi! Stop staring, chin boy!"

He didn't move.

Clara raised her voice. "Eyes front, soldier!" she yelled.

And the memories came flooding back- Clara Oswin Oswald, young, pretty, Victorian governess/barmaid, still incredibly sassy..,

The incarnation of Clara that kissed him.

Goddamn it, that kiss... And after it, she had died.

A tear sparkled in his eyes, and Clara's inner mother came out as she stepped toward him. "Doctor? Are you okay?" She gazed up into his eyes.

"Yeah, totally, I'm fine." He wiped the tear away quickly.

"No you're not. Would a hug help whatever is wrong?"

He nodded, and Clara put her arms around him.

He buried his face in her sweet-scented hair. "Oh, Clara..."

"Hm?"

"Nothing. Just bad memories."

"Oh. Was it something I said?"

The Doctor nodded silently.

"Oh. Sorry."

"You said that already. And it's not your fault- well it is, but it was well-intentioned."

Clara looked at him quizzically.

"One of your previous incarnations said the same thing to me. And she... died."

"Oh."

"Yeah. But they always go in the end." He sighed heavily.

"So when I die, I'll just be a bad memory?"

He glared at her. "Never. You'll always be here. You won't die, not again."

"Theres a time for everyone to go, Doctor, whether you like it or not."

He kissed her forehead affectionately. "Yeah, but I can't let you go again, after so many times..."

"But you will, because I'm human and I expire much faster than a Time Lord."

"Stop being a pessimist. Let's go to the swimming pool."
