As they were relocated to a separate area of the museum, Abel kept a close eye on Eden. He just now noticed the rosary in her hands and leaned closer smiling, "Wait... What did you steal now?" With a small chuckle he nudged Eden playfully not expecting to get the smile he got out of her. Eden held out the rosary to inspect the details and looked up to Abel who's smile faded, "You did steal it. Didn't you?" He whispered his words out unsure of where or how she had gotten ahold of the relic.
"I might've. But since it was stolen first, I think it is only fair."
Abel looked to Esther for support but received nothing as she instead was busy walking alongside Julia chatting about various things from the Vatican. He hung his head low and let out a long, deep sigh. "I guess there's nothing I can do now. It is already in your possession."
Felix took no time in opening a locked compartment to grab a set of keys locked inside. He went to a wall with vertical cut outs that once unlocked, it slid out showcasing a sealed glass wall of several paintings held with a vacuum tight and pressurized system, locking out the oxygen from them. This was in hopes to keep the paintings from any decay.
Quite a few were of flowers, a garden, Saint Maria's garden to be exact. Eden was quick to the glass and easily recognized certain pathways that lead around the garden. Even the stalls where she remembered the vendors would be in were depicted in the pictures. It was almost as if she could smell and hear the images, there was such a familiarity to them. There was a painting of a statue in the garden with large wings outstretched. Below the statue was a small child with her arms outstretched like wings. A smile crept across her lips as Eden trailed her fingers along to another painting of a small girl with white roses in her hands. The girl was looking up, her hazel eyes showcasing specks of green and bronze shining like jewelry. Her hair had fluid motion as the painting depicted it as a windy day with her bangs in her face. Looking to another picture the same girl was looking up from a book as she sat on a bay window's seat. Several pictures of the same girl through the years, each with her doing something natural. One she was mid curtsy towards men who were on one knee and a fist over their heart. Even in some pictures she was visually seen in more elegant clothing, jewels, and fine metals. The next picture had the girl sitting in what was to be a gold chair dressed with reds. Atop of her head sat a very expensive and ornate crown while the girl's hair rippled down her shoulders. She held a sort of elegance, knowing of her place in society.
Eden trailed along to a picture of a blond boy with blue eyes as he held a red rose behind his back and the same black haired girl leaning over a balcony. Every picture showed the girl happy and smiling brightly. Her eyes always a focal point in each painting. There were a few more pictures of the same boy and the girl sitting on a bench in the garden. Another with the girl's head on the boy's shoulder as he read a book and the girl was asleep. One was of the boy and the girl hand in hand as he helped her from a carriage. A picture of the boy and girl stopped Eden from walking past, she stared as the boy was more as a man now kneeling before the girl, her hand in his. The girl's body was also depicted as a woman now. She was older with long wavy curls cascading down behind a red silken dress. Her hair adorned with gold accents that stood out against her black hair. The gentleman holding her hand had a crested banner behind him in colors that matched a sword at the man's hip.
Eden's eyes wandered the man then over to the woman once again. Behind her was a crest that was more recognized as her father's family crest. She looked at the deteriorating paper that she read outloud, "Knight Lord Esdras before his bride... The Lady Eden of Rome." Eden gave a slow smile, her eyes gazing across the whole picture, then small parts of it individually. Her heart aching for the picture to be a reality, as it was in fact not.
