Abel sat on his bed waiting for Eden to finish in the bathroom before using it for himself. He gave her half an hour before going up to the door. He was going to knock but decided against it. Abel reasoned with himself that she perhaps needed the soak and the time alone. He laid back on his bed for a few minutes, which turned into another forty-five minutes after closing his eyes for a bit too long. Abel sat up confused from his nap, realizing Eden was still not in the room. Finally, he was going to check in on her in the bathroom.
What he walked in on unsettled him to the core. Abel quickly knelt down at the edge of the tub, his hand lifting the limp head of Eden up and into his palm, "Eden! Eden, wake up!" Her shaking shoulders let him know she was still alive, but the blood in the tub and around on her body meant she had to have been crying for a longer time than he knew. Abel cursed himself for not checking in on her sooner. Eden held her limbs tightly in a ball, her arms clutched around as if trying to be as small as she could. Her sobbing was drowned out by Abel's voice pleading for her to wake up.
Her glazed eyes and fogged mind worked against her as she finally looked up at him. Abel took a washcloth and began cleaning her face off with just a corner dipped in the cold bath water. She looked at him, but couldn't think clearly regardless, "I'm sorry." Eden's tears started to fall more down her cheeks as she reached up to Abel's face with a shaky hand. Her cold hand palmed his jaw, letting her thumb run across his cheek. "I'm... So sorry..."
Abel tried to stop Eden, he was more worried about getting her out of the cold tub and into something warm. "Hey, no. It's just fine, Eden. Let's get you to bed. You most definitely need your rest or at least something to drink again." Abel moved from her hand to grab a few towels for her, but she caught his hand. He watched her pull him closer, down to where he had to kneel again. Eden held his hand to her cheek, her cold fingers mingling between his from the back of his hand. "Eden, who..."
Her eyes shifted up towards the man, she saw blue eyes calm and filled with worry. Abel knew she was not fully awake at the moment. She wasn't seeing what exactly was going on around her in the sort of half awake half asleep state. Eden reached up with her other hand, carefully wrapping it around Abel's neck and tucked herself into him. She was too tired to say or do anything else, so Abel drained the tub, and took the towels to her body, trying to respectfully clean her off before taking her from the bathtub. Eden pulled her arms tightly around his neck and he carried her all the way to his bed. Trying to get her under the covers, she refused to let go of him. Her face was kept tucked into the crook of his neck, despite her hunger, she didn't even have her fangs out.
"Let me get you some clothes to sleep in, Eden."
She shook her head, pulling him tighter into her, almost into the bed with her. "Not again."
"What are you saying? Eden, let me at least get you a nighty or something. Here... Just let go for a minute, I'll be right back." Abel tugged at her arms pulling her away from him enough to step away.
"It just keeps happening. I keep losing everyone I love. When will it ever end?" Eden pulled her legs back to her chest. Abel hurried to grab one of his gowns and pulled it open so he could stick it over Eden's head. In his rush to clothe her, Eden started to realize this wasn't a dream anymore. She blinked up at him, her eyes quickly darting away from his view, "I... I apologize for whatever I just said. I thought you were..."
He let out a sigh helping her move her hair around her body and get the matching gown on. "I know. It was the way you looked at me. I saw it, something letting me know you were elsewhere. The amount of love in your eyes..." Abel shifted the blankets around helping to cover Eden's shivering body. "Just get some rest and warm up"
Eden pulled the blankets up tightly around her body but pulled part of the blanket open, "Get in. I'm not going to get warm by myself."
"I... Uhm. I'm gonna have to refuse. I'll be fine in the chair." Abel held up his hands and shook his head moving away.
Eden sat up a bit, the large gown shifting off of her shoulder as she leaned up, "Abel..." She was more aware of her surroundings, and scooted herself to the edge and stood up. She shook her head, reaching her arms out towards him.
Abel stared down at her for a moment trying to realize what she was doing, his thoughts jumbled about her actions. The warm smile returned to his face, he leaned down and hugged Eden back. She hasn't sat like this since he was young and they were on the ships. "What has gotten into you?"
"I don't want to be alone right now. I've been alone for far too long to spend my last day alone, too. Just once. It'll help me be able to sleep peacefully."
After another sigh, Abel rested his palm on the back of Eden's head pulling her closer into him at last. He felt her body shivering still, but also hiding the fact that she was hiding her crying from him again. With a small nod, he bent a bit more and scooped Eden up into his arms. Disregarding her small shriek of it in the first place, he put her back into the bed and crawled in beside her. It was too small for them to actually fit decently, but Eden shifted to her side while Abel stayed laying on his back. He thought of what she could be thinking, unsure of what he could say or do to help her. "Eden, about Mary..."
Eden's body became colder, harder, and she shut her eyes tightly. Her arm reached out across his chest, tucking her fingers under his back. Abel used his own pillow, and Eden insead used his upper arm as a pillow for herself. She gripped him tightly, "Please don't. I don't want to hear anything pertaining to her right now. It's too much."
Abel gave a slight nod and used his left arm which she was sleeping on to curl and stroke the hair on her head. The thing she found most amusing and could calm down easily when Lilith would play with her hair. The women were at times inseparable, he and his brother would find the two women talking about things they wouldn't fully understand. Occasionally, the two would surprise them with food, or something they found amusing to tease the twins. Eden was always more mischievous, Lilith more innocent. They would swap clothing, Lilith found it most amusing to dress Eden in her traditional clothing just to see the look on Cain's face. The blush he would hide then say he had work to do was always most amusing to the women.
Eden closed her eyes softly, her mind wandering as she tried to envision that she was lying next to her lover. It was easy knowing how similar they were, but at the same time, she had a hard time focusing on the idea of being with him for one last day before she would soon be taken from him again. Sleep started to pull her under again, this time more peaceful than the last time. "Good-bye my Love..."
