25† Into Temptation

Dawn started to peak its way through the clouds as the priest made his way into the Vatican's Gates. He held up his pass to the guards at the door and then the pass for Mary, "I need to get her to the hospital as soon as I can. She hasn't woken up since she was knocked unconscious. I fear she might have suffered a concussion. She's still breathing though."

The guards eyed the 'nun' curiously, "I'm sorry? Who is this?"

The father narrowed his eyes, "Honestly, I don't know. I saved her from mutated methuselah before she was killed," He removed the hat over her head, letting her sun kissed copper locks sway in the light breeze, the sunlight picking up the small strands of golden blonde in her hair mixed with the brown. "I believed her to be a boy, but actually a nun in disguise."

"Sir, we have no records of her being currently admitted to the Church. She might have been unlisted for certain reasons." The one guard stood firm watching Mary as the other looked through a list of approved names.

The blond looked towards the hospital wing of the building, "Regardless, she needs medical attention. I'll take her there now." After he spoke, his quiet voice mumbled as he prayed over Mary on their way to the infirmary.

Inside, some workers made a slight buzz of the building. A few looked towards the Priest as others hurried with their duties. A nun made her way towards him and Mary, "Oh, dear. What is this?"

"During the night, she was attacked and thrown against a wall. She hasn't awakened since my trek here. It has been a little over four hours. Will you see that she gets proper medical attention? I started to, but realised she was a woman disguised as a boy on the streets."

The nun nodded then guided him to a hospital room for her. He laid her down into the bed, taking time now to notice her feminine features. The Priest walked up to and held a palm over Mary's forehead mumbling once more before taking his leave.

The blond hurried on his way towards Lady Caterina's office, hoping she would be awake by now.

He knocked lightly on her office door and waited patiently for the door to open. The blonde woman looked up, confused to the man at her door, "Hugue? You made it back?"

"Excuse me for being so early. I just wanted to let you know about the Sister I brought back to the Vatican. She was attacked by the Red Phantoms I've been assigned to follow. She was dressed up as a boy but was thrown against a wall and went unconscious. I brought her here to the hospital. I came right away because I found the Nun's pass on her but had trouble getting inside with her pass. I'm not sure if it's fake or something happened in my absence."

"Take me to her. Now!" Caterina left without even her jacket on her body, extremely under dressed for what she would normally present herself in. Hugue, headed back to where he came from, careful not to walk too fast for Caterina. This woman or situation had to be of extreme importance for her to carry herself looking as such.

Their heels clicked along the floor in urgency as they made their way to the hospital wing, "We came to see the Nun I dropped off here moments ago." Hugue looked up to a nun whose face dropped.

"Sir," The medical nun stammered looking through her papers, "Uhm, she-"

"She escaped, didn't she?" Caterina looked around the room as they all seemed almost scared of something, "What else did she do?"

"M'Lady Caterina, I didn't mean any harm of this woman's return. I only seeked medical attention because I believed she needed it."

"It's alright, Hugue. I understand your motives. It's hers that bothers me. She escaped once already and I had her pass revoked in case she tried to sneak back in. She can't be too far from here then. I must be on my way to start a team to search for her." Caterina headed out once again to her room and started contact with the other AX members to get them up for the mission at hand.
