Eden held her stomach in pain but leaned into Abel fighting the tears from escaping knowing her blood red tears would scare most onlookers away. He held her to his chest as the three of them took the elevator back up to the busy hallways. Mary led the way around the halls, making sure no one patrolling would see them as they made their way through.
After several minutes, they arrived at Abel's room where he was housed during his stay at the Vatican. Mary led the way inside and looked around to the large room with a small bed and a table for two. A wardrobe with a small radio sat across from the bed and it's end tables held a small lamp and an alarm clock. Mary stepped to the side as Abel brought Eden in. He laid her onto the bed carefully and pulled out a drawer from under his bed. He quickly started a makeshift IV with a blood bag. He eyed Mary for a moment then stepped in front of her view, "Please forgive me. I know I may be odd... But the truth is, I'm not as human as I'd want to be. As you saw, I'm just like the woman here." Abel looked down to the floor, "I've been cursed for my sins."
Mary stepped forward and reached with both palms to Abel's face, "Fear not my child, for you are blessed. You protect those who cannot yet protect themselves. Just as the fated son was sacrificed like the lamb for our sins, you are in no need to worry. Our Lord and Savior Jesus takes those sins away. His mother Mary suffered the life of being accused of her lies, but with proof of her son, she was forgiven by the world." Mary smiled warmly to Abel, "And like Mary Magdalene, you will become greater than what you thought you were destined to be."
Abel nodded, his smile returned to his lips. He turned to Eden who lay motionless in the bed. "Her heart and lungs will quit working soon... Even if they already work backwards compared to a normal human." Using his makeshift IV system, he added a blood bag and held Eden's hand gently as he twisted it over to reveal her forearm. He took the needle to her cubital area and ran his fingers over her veins palpating them. He knew he didn't need a tourniquet due to having done this similarity to her before, otherwise her body would fight against the needle. Eden looked over to him with tired eyes as he slid the needle into her cephalic vein.
He watched the blood start to pump through her body as she started to absorb the blood. Eden looked away from Abel and held onto her stomach feeling the need to retch still. She looked up to Mary as her vision blurred slightly. "Thank you, my lovely Abel. This is why I'll always love you."
Abel looked over with a sad look, "Don't thank me. Be grateful Caterina let you live after that whole fiasco. And what kind of revenge plan do you have up your sleeve?" He pulled up the two chairs, one for Sister Mary and the other for himself.
Eden looked away from Abel trying to think. She closed her eyes tightly, clearly in pain physically and mentally, "Never mind that. I just wanted to be sure you were still the same Abel."
Father Abel sat down and pulled Eden's hand into his, stroking the back of her hand with his thumb gently. "You say that but you obviously came to the Vatican to tell me something. Or you needed my help with something?"
She watched his hand a bit before she coughed up some black liquid. Her blood angrily coagulated with the chemical. "Put toxins in my system only to beat me..."
Abel shifted around uncomfortably, his loose hair following his momentum, "I know if it really was you, I would die before I can even explain anything. Truth be told, I was terrified. You've killed so many constantly if anyone disobeyed you. I wasn't about to chance that with the most deadly woman I know!" Abel's smile returned for a second then faded back to seriousness, "This was the only way to get an advantage. If I could just sit it out until the BME took effect in your system, I wouldn't have to fight you for too long."
