Krishna and Arjun reach the river streams through which crystal clear water flowed. The manmohana went and sat down on a rock beside the stream, the archer also sat in front of him.
"Arjun, tell me how is everything between you and Tamasvini ?" Krishna asked.
"What's there to hide from you Madhav ? It's good. But could be better." Arjun said.
"I did see the way you look at her, so lovingly." Krishna said.
"I do care for her very much, she also does. But I don't know if it's love." Arjun said.
"I am sure love will blossom soon between you two." Krishna assured.
Up in cosmos someone else also needed assurance, it was none other than Agnidev.
A king named Shwetaki once conducted a Yagha for twelve years, and having consumed all the ghee that was offered into the fire, Agnidev felt lethargic.
He had consulted Brahmadev and the creator told him to consume Khandav forest and it's inhabitants, as they were threat to everyone.
Agnidev had tried but was unsuccessful as Indradev was the friend of Nagraj Takshak, king of Khandav forest, and thus it was under his protection.
Everytime Agnidev tried to devour the forest, Indradev showered water from above, and thus Agni always failed to devour it.
Thus he again went to Brahmadev for help.
"Brahmadev, I cannot devour Khandav van because of Indradev, help me please. I want to regain my own nature, free from this lethargy." Agnidev said.
"Only two can help you now." Brahmadev said.
"Who ?" Agnidev asked.
"There are two of the most foremost warriors on earth, who right now are staying near Khandav forest. They are ancient and eternal twin sage gods Nar and Narayan, who have reincarnated as Arjun and Krishna, with their own wish. Ask them for help, they will surely agree." Brahmadev said.
"As you say." Agnidev bowed.
He immediately left to earth and went to Khandav van and saw two illustrious looking men sitting by the river streams. Both were dark-skinned, curly haired and muscular.
Seeing the similarity between their appearances, Agnidev deduced that they must be ancient sages Nar and Narayan as Arjun and Krishna. He went towards them.
"Are you both warriors Krishna and Arjun ?" Agnidev asked.
"Indeed." Krishna said with a smile.
"Thank goodness. I am Agni, the fire god, the foremost devourer and I require your help." He said.
"How can we help you Agnidev ?" Arjun asked.
"I want you both to gratify me by giving me sufficient food." Agnidev said.
"Surely. What kind of food would suffice you ?" Arjun asked.
"I do not desire to eat ordinary food. Know that I am Agni. Give me that food which will suit me. Brahmadev has told me to devour this forest of Khandav but it is always protected by Indradev and due to his might prowess, I fail to consume it." Agnidev said.
"So what do you want us to do ?" Krishna asked with a knowing smile.
"I pray you to prevent those showers of Indradev from descending and any of the creatures from escaping, when I begin to consume this forest." Agnidev said joining his hands.
"Surely we will help you Agnidev. I shall use my Chakra to prevent showers from touching you. And Parth shall make sure none of the creatures escape." Krishna said.
"I am certain with your cooperation I shall regain my own nature." Agnidev said.
"But there is a problem. There are many creatures in the Khandav van, from Nagas to Pisachas to Danav, Daityas and Rakshasas. I can easily shoot arrow with immense speed to stop them but I do not have a bow that will be strong enough to suit my strength, speed and power of celestial weapons." Arjun said.
Agnidev fell into deep thought for a moment and then a smile came on his face. He joined his hand and closed eyes, facing the river stream.
"Om Jala bimbhaya, Vidhmahe Nila, Purushaya Dheemahe, Thanno Varuna Prachodayath." Agnidev chanted.
Suddenly from the stream a deity emerged mounted on a makara, with long white beard like the salt of ocean.
"Why did you summoned me Agnidev ?" Varundev asked.
"Varundev, now it is time for you to hand over the indestructible bow, the mighty Gandiv, to Arjun." Agnidev said.
"I have been waiting for this for so long." Varundev smiled.
He summoned the bow with 108 celestial strings, endued with great energy, that was made by Brahmadev himself, which had strength of one lakh bows.
Varundev gave the indestructible bow to Arjun that was worshipped by the celestial beings like Gandharvas. The archer bowed to the great bow and payed respects to all its previous wielders.
Varundev also summoned two quivers which would provide him where he could store as many arrows as he pleased, the arrows in this will always be inexhaustible.
"I hope that now you're prepared Gandivdhari Arjun ?" Agnidev asked.
"Indeed." Arjun smiled.

A/NGANDIVDHARI ARJUNA !!!!
MAHESHWASA DHANANJAYA !!!!!Some texts say that Krishna also got his Chakra from Varun dev during Khandav dahan, while some texts say Bhagwan Parshuram handed it over to him.
And Bhagwan Parshuram story seemed more logical to me, like why would Varun dev have Sudarshan Chakra ? How can he even carry it ?
SO AFTER DOING A LOT OF RESEARCH LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING...
Now onwards in Dharmport, when we talk about Nar-Narayan, we will not refer to the former as Rishi Nar like we previously did.
He is Bhagwaan Nar ! He is the ancient, eternal, everlasting God according to Brahmadev !!
SO ITS NOT RISHI NAR ! ITS BHAGWAAN NAR !
