Chapter 162: Pillowtalk
The ride to the hospital was a blur for Snow, as she rested her head against his chest, while holding a cloth to the knife wound in his side. It wasn't bleeding anymore, so that was good and gave her hope that it was minor. He was lucid and had a clear head, so she was sure they'd be on their way home soon. She texted Regina to tell her they were okay and she had texted back, saying she was going to close up and drive the kids home, promising to stay with them until they got there. She couldn't wait to tell their babies that their daddy was back. Come to think of it, there were other things she couldn't wait for and one of those was getting her husband alone. As if sensing her thoughts, which she was sure he did, considering they were damn near telepathic, he smiled coyly at her and kissed her forehead. A million other things were still running through her head though. For some reason, it seemed both she and Charming remembered everything about the night of the curse, except anything concerning Emma. Those memories still seemed to be blocked and that scared her. Not knowing where one of their babies was or what had happened to her frightened her to the core. She knew he felt the same and felt him squeeze her hip. At least she was no longer alone in any of this. She had her husband back and now her best friend too. They would figure this out...she had hope now.
Rogers dropped them off and they went into the hospital, hand in hand. He had called Dr. Aeson on the way and asked again for her discretion. She had told them to go to exam room four on the fifth floor and so they did, anxiously awaiting a daughter that wouldn't know them. But that didn't matter. Just seeing her would bring them both comfort.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," Jenna said, as she entered the exam room.
"No problem...thanks for agreeing to do this," David replied.
"Oh...you're not alone. You know, I usually can't treat patients with others in the room, unless they're a spouse or family," she mentioned. David nodded and still held her hand.
"It's okay...she's my wife," he stated. Jenna's brow furrowed, as she looked at his chart.
"But it says here that you're a widower," she responded. He sighed.
"Yeah...it's really difficult to explain and it's going to sound crazy, but that file is wrong. She's my wife and she's not dead," David said. Jenna looked at the other dark haired woman.
"You're telling me that you're Margaret Nolan? Because I remember that story in the paper. Margaret Nolan was killed when Professor Jenkins drove his car off a cliff with her in it," Jenna recalled. Snow sighed.
"I know...it's really complicated. But he's right. I'm his wife and I'm not dead," she responded. Jenna sighed and put the clipboard down.
"Okay...I want the whole story or I'm walking out this door and you can find another doctor," she said sternly. They exchanged a glance and started explaining what the could, minus the things about the curse.
Jacinda entered their apartment that evening and tiredly dropped her bag on the floor. It smelled wonderful, but that wasn't unusual, for her best friend was a fantastic cook. But when she spied the mounds of flour, sugar, and ingredients sitting just outside the kitchen, she knew something was up.
"What's going on?" she asked her best friend, as she peered into the kitchen.
"I'm making my famous beignets," Sabine answered.
"I see that...by why does it look like you are making them in bulk?" Jacinda questioned.
"Because we are making them to sell and if everything goes as it should, it will put us on the path to financial freedom," her best friend answered.
