Enjoy1817
It all started with a knock.
He arose from his love seat held in the center of his living room with a fire set. He wondered in annoyance who would be knocking at this late hour, and also chilly weather. It was deep into the winter, and the temperatures were dropping to well below freezing.
Another knock sounded, this time more erratic. Rushed.
He felt a chill as he neared the door, and drew in his light coat closer to his body, blaming it on the cold weather.
He opened the door, his eyes narrowing at the image of an old lady at his door steps. His eyes lingered on her tattered clothing, and disheveled appearance. Her hair was in knots, pilled with mud that seemed to cover her face as well as her clothes.
Her smile was worse.
Some of her teeth were missing, and the ones that were there were black and brown, holding limitless amounts of filth and cavities.
Luka felt repulsed by the sight of the elderly woman, and he didn't care to hide it. His hands gripped the knob of the door, ready to close it, but the woman held out her foot, stopping his actions. He shivered again, peering at the heaps of snow, beginning to grow impatient with the presence of the old woman.
"Yes?" He snapped.
She flashed him another one of her smiles, and this time he shuddered. He saw something flash behind her eyes, and he was unsure if it was the cold that was causing the strips of goosebumps to arise on the back of his neck.
"W-Water," she stuttered, her voice sounding perched.
He let out a sigh, "Look lady, there's a village just two miles off, you'll find no help here." This time he completed his previous action of closing the door.
Luka disregarded the essence of the woman, and started out towards his couch, ready to immerse himself back into his book. He barely managed to settle down when a knock echoed throughout the castle.
He let out an angry groan, knowing that it was the elderly woman disrupting his peace.
He stalked back to the door, opening the wooden door with a frustrated fierceness. "What!" He yelled out, his voice dying down as he saw a beautiful woman instead.
He cleared his throat as he examined the woman before him. She was the complete opposite of the woman he saw a minute ago. She radiated elegance, her brown locks cascading down her back, settling down to the curve of her waist. Her lips were red, and sculptured into a pout. Her nose held high, and her cheeks were flushed from the freezing temperatures, adding to her hypnotic features.
She let out a cough. "Sir."
"Oh yes," She interrupted my thoughts, dousing me awake, "How may I help you miss?" Luka leaned back onto the door, putting on his flirtatious aura with a smirk on his face.
She seemed pleased with his actions, stepping closer to lay a hand on his bicep. "Would you be kind enough to provide me with some water my lord?"
His shoulders stiffen at her words, noting that she had asked him the same question as the old woman did before, but as he took one more glance at her, he decided to wave off his uneasiness as he peered into her doe like eyes.
He moved to the side, allowing her entrance into his home. She didn't hesitant to move forward, and was delighted to be inside.
She looked around and he led her into the kitchen. She gazed at him as he took out a pitcher of water, and a glass. Not daring to call his servants to pour a glass of water for the lady, but to do it himself.
He held out the glass, and as her hand brushed against his, is where his life ended.
Luka dropped down onto the ground, wrapping his hands around his throat, trying desperately to breathe, but all that he could manage was to squeak out a plea for help. Calling out his servants in fright as he saw the woman repetitively changing before him back to the old lady, and then back to her young appearance.
She dove down to his withering body, kicking out a leg to hold his thrashing body still.
Luka continued to scratch his throat, trying to gather air into his lungs, seeing the black dots threatening his consciousness. He knew that if he feel asleep now he may never wake up again.
The witch laughed, straddling his form under her, harshly gripping his chin to look at her. She looked beautiful as she did before, but she was just as deadly. In her true form, her eyes were white, and so was her hair.
"You are going to die."
"N-No," Luka choked out.
She sneered at him, and he bite down on his tongue, letting her finish.
"You're going to be the monster you really are," she gave him a small smile, that did nothing to comfort him. "You have some hope though, unfortunately I don't have enough power to inflict this curse without a loophole."
His ears perked up at that. "You must make a girl fall in love with you within the century," she raised a finger at him, "Nah, ah ah, don't get your hopes up. There are conditions Luka. First," she neared closer to Luka's face, chilling him to the bone. "You may never drink her blood," His face twisted in confusion at that, but she continued, not bothering to explain. "The most important one, is that you have to keep her safe. There will be a bounty on her head as soon as she steps foot into this realm. She will be the only one to be able to do so."
She got off of Luka once she finished, wiping her hands as if she were disgusted with Luka. "It won't be long now."
He watched as she walked away, leaving him alone to his last breaths.
He looked up at the ceiling, favoring his last moment, for once in his life noticing the deep, intricate carvings implanted into the wood. Luka squinted his eyes to make out the art within the wood, seeing a monster of some sort fighting off a village.
He took his last breath.
He was going to wake up like the monster on his ceiling.
A beast.

I promise it'll get better, I'm just fixing a few hiccups since I wrote this story 2 years ago. Also, I am aware that some vampire books do have the Beauty and the Beast theme, but keep in mind that I originally first published this book in 2015. If problems start to arise over this, I'll happily display the evidence.
