I didn't know what to say.

I didn't know what to believe.

All of this was too much, so I resorted to the easiest option. Run.

Alec didn't stop me this time, and I was thankful for that even though I knew he could easily catch up to me if he wanted to.

"There's more," he said, throwing the last twig into the fire, watching it go up into flames with all the others. "I wasn't always the man I am today," his voice came out rough with thought.

My mind went to the guard. I knew what he was capable of. He smiles, has been playful since we have properly introduced ourselves earlier today, but I barely knew him. It's only been a day, and within the same day he had killed someone within a flash.

"When I woke up I did bad things," he started as I stayed quiet, "I have killed people. A lot of people." My foot moved a stepped back, and I felt my breathing stop. Suddenly, I didn't feel very safe in this hut. I didn't feel safe around him.

"I'm not going to hurt you," he said, seeing my retreating body moving further away from him, but that didn't stop me from moving one step back.

His shoulders hunched forward in shame, rubbing his foot against the mud underneath his shoes. "When I woke up I murdered people, kids even," he drew his hands to his face, his shoulders shuddered. It looked like he was crying, and I felt guilty for being afraid.

"When I woke up I really was a beast. I didn't know how to control myself, and when I woke up the next day, I was covered in blood," he looked around him, through a little slip that showed a couple of kids playing around with each other. "Until these people found me and helped me contain these urges."

"What urges?" I asked in a whisper.

He looked straight into my eyes. "To kill."

And that's when I ran.

The whole area was gated so I didn't have many options, but I found myself running to the front entrance. It was a long shot, but I needed to get out of here. I had enough supernatural experiences for a life time. I just needed to get out.

A guard stepped in front of me when I reached the entrance, touching the sword on his hip in caution. "You aren't permitted to leave," He said with no emotion, as if it was just engraved into him.

I side stepped him, maneuvering past him and continued out the entrance.

A hand gripped my shoulder causing me to stop in my tracks.

"Let me go Alec," my jaw clenched telling myself to ignore the feelings he was giving me with his hand on my shoulder. Telling myself that none of these feelings were real, just placed onto the both of us by some crazy witch.

"Please, just calm down."

I whirled back around to face him, "How do you expect me to take in all of this!" I yelled, not caring about the little show I was displaying.

"You can't leave," He tilted his head in some type of command movement, and right after the guards had the entrance blocked off.

I crossed my arms, shrugging off his hold. "So what? I'm a hostage here too then?"

His eyes softened, but turned cold in an instant. "If you want to think of it that way, then so be it."

"Unbelievable," I huffed out. I stalked off away from him, but I only managed to take two steps before Alec had me thrown over his shoulder.
