It was around 8 pm, you were silently applying toner on your face, humming in the music that you were playing on your phone when you heard your doorbell ringing. Perplexed, you furrowed your brows as you looked at the direction of your door. You thought about who it could be for a second before standing up and going outside to open the gates. It must be Suna dropping by, unannounced. You smiled at the thought of that, eagerly unlocking your gate. True to your assumption, it was Suna standing outside.

You thought he would be glad to see you so when you saw the big, troubled frown on his face, you were bewildered. His brows were knitted together tightly to the point you could feel the tension there. His eyes were quite unreadable, his mixed emotions throwing off your judgement a little. "Rin? Are you okay?" You asked, worried about what could be bothering him. But before you could even take a step towards him, he stopped you by raising a hand to prevent you from stepping outside. He roamed his sight around the neighborhood as if he was looking for someone. When he saw that no one was around, he quickly ushered you inside.

"Did you see someone suspiciously walking around? Was someone roaming around here before you went inside?" He asked solemnly, holding your shoulders firmly so he could trap your gaze with his. His tone was raspy, raising a little. Urgency was sticking out from his voice, he wanted to hear your answer now.

"No, I haven't seen anyone." You squeaked, a little scared of the way he abruptly held you close and the panic in his tone. Although you were clueless as to why he sounded so concerned, you knew he must've had a good reason.

"Are you sure? Have you seen your lock? Someone tried to force their way in. There are plenty of scratches on the keyhole." His voice was shaking a little and you knew you should focus on his concern first but you couldn't help but to note that this was the first time you were seeing Suna this panicked. You mentally scolded yourself for that and gave your undivided attention to him. You slowly processed his words and your eyes gradually widened as you realized the weight of the situation.

Some creep or worse just tried to break into your house, holy shit.

"What the hell..." You trailed off as you felt chills running up your spine. "You're telling me if they successfully got inside before I arrived... I could be..." You swallowed the lump in your throat, breaking to a cold sweat as possibilities dawned on you. You felt sick to your stomach as you instinctively took a sharp breath, covering your mouth, pupils shaking in mortification. You could've died or something.

"But let's not jump to conclusions, maybe they just wanted to steal or something." You quickly told yourself and looked at Suna, asking for reassurance.

Suna's expression was dark, especially after what you said earlier. If you weren't so lucky he could've lost you that easily. To be honest he didn't know why he was thinking of the worst case scenario on the get go. But his gut was just telling him that if that person succeeded with their attempts earlier he would be greeted by an unimaginable sight. And he hated it because most of the time his gut feeling was right.

He felt his heart dropping to his stomach as a heavy realization suddenly set in: you were in grave danger.

"You are coming with me tonight." Was what he said the second he ascertained that you weren't safe here anymore. At least until y'all catch the culprit.

"Yeah, I don't think I will be able to sleep alone here tonight anyways." You quickly answered, unconsciously clinging onto him, squeezing his jacket tight in your grasp. "I'm scared." You admitted. You couldn't believe how oblivious you were. Someone tried to break into your house and you didn't have any idea. You were convinced that your ignorance would definitely kill you next time if not this time.
