It was just a normal day at work for Suna and thank goodness practice was already over because his back had been bothering him all day. He figured his muscles were too tight and he needed to roll or massage them to release the tension. If those wouldn't do the trick then he would have to consult Iwaizumi regarding it. He mentally noted all of that before he proceeded to gather his things and made sure that he got everything. Once done, he politely bid his farewell to everyone in the team and just as when he was about to head out, Bokuto tapped his shoulder.
Suna raised a brow at him, confused.
"Hey hey hey! You brought your car today, right?" Bokuto asked in his raspy yet cheerful voice. There was a massive smile on his face as he waited for Suna to respond to him.
Albeit bewildered about his question, Suna answered honestly, "Yes, I did bring it."
"Nice! Can I get a ride? You will pass by the malls on the way home, am I right?" Bokuto beamed, eyes forming crescents as he seemed extremely pumped about something.
"You're not staying behind to practice some more?" Suna asked because he knew that he was one of those who always stayed behind after practice to play some more because apparently their whole day routine wasn't enough for them. Sometimes he really thought they were just masochists at this point.
"Nope! I will be going home early because I haven't been able to bond with 'Kaashi that much lately." Bokuto pouted a little, evidently upset that he wasn't getting enough time with his fiance.
"Uh if that's the case then sure. I'll drop you by the malls?" Suna was a bit unsure because he didn't know Bokuto's intention but since he wasn't asking for too much he would comply. Not to mention he was older than him and even though he didn't say it much, he really respected Bokuto; he was such a good senior even though he was unforgivingly loud sometimes.
"Yes please! Thank you!" Bokuto laughed loudly and jumped as if he was celebrating the fact that Suna was dropping him off.
Although still puzzled, Suna didn't comment further because he just wanted to go home as soon as possible. He kindly ushered Bokuto to his car and he did plan to stay quiet throughout the whole ride, but it didn't sit right to him that he would give his senior a silent treatment. Of course he could do that but he knew Bokuto wasn't deserving of it. Suna knew he wasn't the best person in the world but he wouldn't simply disrespect Bokuto in that sense.
So he cleared his throat, mustering the courage to at least talk a little.
"What are you going to do at the mall, Bokuto-san?" He quietly asked, voice a little low as he was observing the atmosphere.
"I'm gonna buy some flowers for 'Kaashi and maybe some fresh coffee grounds since he likes them a lot." Bokuto grins proudly as his eyes shimmered with affection and admiration. Simply from that, Suna deduced just how much Bokuto loved Akaashi. It was quite fascinating to him.
"I see." Suna curtly commented, eyes focused on the road while Bokuto beamed at him from the shotgun seat.
"How about you? Do you buy Y/N flowers?" Bokuto questioned.
Ah that was right, he kinda told the team that you two were dating. He didn't explicitly tell them that you were both together but maybe they noticed his stupid smile while talking about you so they deciphered everything from that.
Suna was taken aback by Bokuto's question, eyes widening a little as he pondered about it. "I... don't buy her flowers." He answered, his voice a little quieter than earlier.
"So that's not your thing huh? How about dates then? Do you take her out often?" Bokuto tilted his head, looking too pure and innocent. It was obvious how innocently curious he was about you and Suna, he didn't mean any harm.
