Your alarm rang in the four corners of your room, effectively bringing back your being to consciousness as you blinked the drowsiness away. Yawning, you rubbed your sleep-ridden eyes to force yourself to get up then proceed to turn off your alarm. Stretching your body, you pushed yourself off of your bed and got on your feet. With sleepy eyes, you grabbed your towel and freshened up, you need to go to work after all. By that thought, you looked at yourself in the mirror, eyes intensely staring at your reflection. Your body was still soaked because you just got out of the shower. You then proceeded to brush your teeth. A few seconds later, you sighed heavily.
After two weeks, you're finally returning to work. Nothing happened in your workplace, it was just that someone was bothering you so you asked your mom to give you a time off of work. You were working at your parents' cafe so it wasn't hard to ask them a favor of letting you off for two weeks. After all, you worked there since you graduated college and it was your first time asking for a break so they easily let you. Now, was your job paying well? Eh, it was alright. But despite that, you wouldn't want to work anywhere else. You love working there.
You just hoped he wasn't there and left for good.
You shook your head, you shouldn't be thinking about him. You already moved on but you didn't want to see him anymore. Seeing his face always brought back bad memories and anger. "Why am I thinking about him now?" You laughed at yourself, quite pathetically so.
With another sigh, you cleaned your toothbrush and exited the bathroom. You then choose your outfit for today and dried your hair. You decided to just style your hair today and leave your face bare. Grabbing your things, you left your place and drove to your shop. It was a peaceful ride and the weather seemed to be nice, it was a promising day it seemed.
When your eyes catch sight of your parents' cafe, you squint your eyes at the restaurant beside it. You bit your bottom lip upon seeing that someone just went in but you didn't see who it was. Parking your car carefully, you stared at the restaurant for a hot minute. Your eyes glared at the name; Onigiri Miya. Although you have to admit that their onigiri was one of the best, that shop had always been bad news to you. Because you knew, if Osamu decided to go to this branch instead of the main branch in Hyogo, it would be hell for you all over again.
Gripping your steering wheel tightly, you mustered the courage to face everything and hope that he wasn't there. You really didn't want to see him after all that happened. So with a deep breath, you hopped out of your vehicle and walked your way to your shop. Stopping for a moment in front of the restaurant, your eyes scanned the place through the glass wall and thankfully, you didn't find a grey haired man anywhere. Smiling freely, you skipped your way to your shop and happily greeted the workers who were already there.
"Oh? Y/N-san welcome back!" Hana, one of your co-workers, chimed excitedly and rushed to your direction. She crushed you in a tight hug and you returned it with the same enthusiasm. "Thank you! I'm glad to see you Hana!" You sang.
When you both parted, she suddenly got serious. "Why did you not come to work for 2 weeks? We're so worried." She huffed but the playful pout on her lips indicated that she wasn't that upset. "I just took care of a few things." You lied through your teeth.
Nah I was just avoiding Osamu the whole time.
"Oh I see. I hope it went well then." She smiled and you kinda felt bad for lying to her but you have no choice because you couldn't possibly tell her the real reason behind your sudden disappearance. "It did. By the way.." You trailed off and she focused on you, giving you her full attention. "...Is the owner of Onigiri Miya around?" You asked, you need to make sure that he wasn't really here. Though you were certain from your observation earlier, there was still a chance that Osamu was just in the kitchen or coming later.
