CHAPTER TEN

"NOTE that you cannot use your ability."

"Please go easy with me," Mafi whispered to her opponent.

"Go easy with me, too," Shin replied. They prepared for the attack but no one's really going to take offense.

"Look how coward they are," she whispered with a smirk. I suddenly remember how we tried to break each other's bones yesterday. I laughed at her remarks.

"Mafi doesn't like violence," I answered. She's the exact opposite of mine. She will never turn to violence however angry she is. They said birds with the same feather flocks together? Wrong! Birds, like us, can flock with other birds despite the feathers.

In the end, Shin got all the courage and took offense. After soft punches and I don't know what kind of moves they did, Mafi was able to get a clutch on Shin's head. Shin immediately tapped out kahit wala pang ilang segundo. In my opinion, he could easily get out of Mafi's grip. We all turned to Mr. Wilson when he blew on his whistle that's been hanging on his neck since day one.

"Come here, you two." He beckoned them to move closer to him which they did. What kind of fight did they gave? I couldn't even see a drop of sweat from any of them.

"What do you think are you doing?" Mr. Wilson seems to not having fun. He looks more angry than disappointed. Mafi and Shin remained silent.

"Have you watched Felicity and Onyx's duel yesterday? On the league, it doesn't matter who you would face. Either man or woman, you need to fight them and survive. Walang magsasabi ng take it easy with me sa league. Now do it seriously. I want you to give all your strength. Think of this as the league itself."

"It doesn't matter who would win though. We will still feast with meat later on," Kingston mumbled beside me. I breathed in and faced him.

"When did you saw me fight?" I asked him. His pale green eyes made its way to meet my gaze.

"You forgot already?" Nakangisi niyang tanong. My forehead furrowed by his response. I was asking and he answered me with a question. My attention got snatched by the sound of groans. Shin almost got hit by Mafi's fist but he immediately dodged it. He gave Mafi a back kick that sent her to the floor.

"Do you know that man? He's a son of a prominent person. I won't let you hurt anyone anymore with your dirty hands." Nagtataka akong napatingin sa katabi ko. He recited a familiar phrase. And then the memories came rushing to my slow brain. Oh yeah, the night before the Senior Ball.

"Oh that. Akala ko ang tinutukoy mo ay kung paano ko hinablot ang buhok nitong katabi ko sa cafeteria," natatawa kong sagot.

"Your kick was swift and flawless. I wonder how long have you been doing that." That kick; the tornado kick. I learned that from my Self-Defense Subject and practiced that for so many times at home. I told myself I could use that on a dire situation. And it showed me its purpose that night.

"Okay! Mr. Rey won this duel." They have some open wounds and bruises.
