Violet's POV

I walked into the  sitting room. Mason was right where he was when I'd left. His eyes were closed and he looked peaceful. I debated whether to wake him, but finally decided the icepack was necessary; his left cheekbone was already turning purple and swelling.

I gently shook his shoulder and his eyes quickly opened. When he saw it was me, he quickly straightened up and smiled. "Hey." He said, smiling at me. "Hi" I replied. I handed him his icepack. He put his hands up, rejecting it. "Oh, I don't need one." He assured me. "Are you kidding me?" I exclaimed. "Your face is turning purple and is already starting to swell up!" He shrugged his shoulders, but accepted the icepack. "Ok, well...." I felt awkward. "I hope you enjoy your stay. Even if it is only for one night. Haha!" I laughed, but his face just took on a confused expression. "Violet, I'm not staying for just one night." He said seriously. I abruptly stopped laughing and stared at him, shocked. "You're not?" I managed to respond. "Nope" He replied, a grin spreading across his face. He got up from the couch and walked over to me. I unconsciously took a step back; the closeness was bothering me.

I kept taking small descreet steps, but Mason still kept walking towards me. I took another step back, and realized I had walked backwards towards the wall. Mason had me trapped and he knew it. He smiled a grin that could only be described as evil and took a long stride toward me, closing the remaining distance between us. He put his hands on both sides of me and his face was only inches from mine. "Wh-what are you doing?" I stuttered. I could feel my heart beating furiously. "You didn't think it would be that easy to get rid of me, did you?" He purred. "I-I." My voice failed me.

I tried ducking under Mason's arm, but he just repositioned it, blocking my exit. I sighed in frustration, which only made Mason smile more. "I like you." He whispered. I could smell his breath. It smelled like cologne. A very nice, probably very expensive, cologne. Was he always this confident? What was his problem? Suddenly, I got an idea. I knew the chances of it working were slim, but it was the only idea I had.

I smiled. Hopefully it was a sexy smile. "Really?" I asked him sweetly, batting my eyelashes furiously. He seemed to believe my act, because his whole face lit up at my reaction. He eagerly nodded his head up and down. He then leaned towards me. I leaned towards him too, but at the last second, I ducked down, sliding under his arm. He almost hit his head on the wall. He looked up and I saw confusion in his eyes, then anger, and then a hint of amusement.

I scowled at him. "Don't ever try that on me again!" I growled at him. "You mean, you were only acting?" There was a trace of disappointment in his voice. "Well, yeah!" I said. "I mean, come on Mason! I'm going out with Seth. I love Seth, Mason. And if you were being a good friend to Seth, you wouldn't flirt with his girlfriends." I was almost yelling, and I tried to calm myself down. Mason looked confused. "How do you know about that?" He asked me. "He told me." I replied. "He did?" Mason looked shocked. Good. "I need to go,  Mason. If there's anything you need while you're staying here, just go to the front office." My voice sounded mutual, bored.

He nodded his head once, and I turned on my heel walking out of the sitting room. I didn't know how this week was going to go. Mason was defiently going to make it complicated. I was hoping I could keep away from him and be able to spend time with Seth. I wondered briefly how Seth and Mason had even become friends. They seemed like complete opposites. I promised myself I would find out as I walked up the stairs, going to make beds.
