Violet's POV

Once I had made my way up the stairs, I walked over to my parents' room. They were located at the end of a hallway, away from the guest rooms. Besides my room, my parents' room was my favorite room in the house. Like mine, it too, overlooked the ocean. A bathroom was connected to the bedroom. I didn't often go into their bedroom, but I still could remember almost perfectly what it looked like.

Calming myself, I took a deep, steadying breath before lightly knocking on the door. I waited for a moment, before the door opened. My mom was in the doorway, and when she saw it was me, her face instantly lit up. "Hi, Mom," I greeted her, giving a small wave. "Hello, Violet." She replied, ushering me into the bedroom. "I'm sorry. I hope I'm not interrupting," I rambeled, wringing my hands together nervously.

"Oh, not at all." My mom assured me, closing the door behind me. I went and sat in a chair. My mom sat opposite from me. "Can you get dad in here too?" I asked. Before my mom could reply, my dad walked out of the adjoining bathroom. "Did someone just call me?" He asked, smiling.

I nodded my head and my mom and dad went to the bed, sitting down. After a second of silence, I began. "Mom, dad, I'd like to talk to you about the internship." They nodded their heads, not saying anything. "um, well," I continued, not really sure where to start, "I've been giving it a lot of thought. And I think I've made up my mind, but I wanted to talk to you two about it first."

I studied their expressions before continuing. "I want to take the interhship." I realized I was holding my breath. My breath came out in a gust when my mom responded, "Yeah, that's what we both thought." My mom told me.  I stared at them. "But how did you know?" I asked, confused. "Well, when the Westerfelds offered you the internship, your eyes lit up. You looked so excited. I don't think anyone had any doubt that you wanted to take the job." My dad replied.

I sat there for a second, absorbing this information. I realized my parents knew me better than I thought. They had also known about Seth and me, even before we'd told them we were going out. I promised to give them more credit in the future.

"So, what do you guys think?" I asked nervously. My eyes kept going back and forth between my mom and dad, trying to read their expressions and decipher their faces. They didn't look angry or upset, which was good. "I think you should take it." My dad said.

What? Did I just hear them right? They were okay with me going? "Really?" I asked them skeptically. "Sure, Violet. This is your dream. And this internship is a once in a lifetime oppertunity," my mom added.

"Oh my gosh! Thank you so much!" I cried, emotion filling my voice. I got up, giving my parents a hug. "Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I repeated, excite consuming me. Eventually, I pulled back. Looking into their eyes, I asked them a question I knew I had to ask. "But don't you guys need help at the Seaside Retreat?" To my relief, my parents just laughed. "Violet, your mom and I have run this hotel without you before. I think we still can." My dad winked at me. "You should take the internship." My mom encouraged me.

I could not believe it had been this easy. I figured my parents would have said no or would have used the guilt trick on me, saying I could go, but kept telling me how hard it would be to run the bed and breakfast without me and how much they would miss me.

Feeling so excited, I gave my parents another hug. "I have to go tell Mr. and Mrs. Westerfeld." I told them happily. They smiled, telling me, "go figure out some more details. You'll have to figure out when you'll leave." I waved at them, opening the door. "I promise I'll visit as much as I can, and I'll email you." "You better." My mom told me seriously. " I want to know everything you learn out in California." Knowing my mom, she would want to know everything I was doing.

"I will." I assured them. "Love you!" I added, before closing the door behind me. Once I was out in the hall, I checked to make sure I was by myself. After making certain the hallway was empty, I did a little victory dance, which involved jumping up and down and clapping my hands.

I skipped down to Seth's room. Before I went to see Mr. and Mrs. Westerfeld, I wanted to see Seth. I knew he would be excited for me. Seth was so supportive of me, which was one of many things I loved about Seth.

I arrived at Seth's door quickly. Without hesitation, I knocked on his door. After the first knock, Seth opened the door. After seeing my expression, his face instantly lit up into a million dollar smile. Gosh, he was gorgeous. "I'm going to take the internship!" I gushed. Before I could think, Seth had swept me up into his arms. I wrapped my legs around his lean, but muscular, waist. "That's awesome!" He whispered, leaning his forehead against mine. His lips met mine. They were so soft. I secured my hands into his perfect blond hair, enjoying the close contact.

He closed the door, and although I couldn't be sure, I thought we were in his bedroom. He sat down on the bed, with me still kissing him. Eventually, his lips left mine and his lips started to kiss my neck. I smiled.

I got up off the bed, smiling. Seth looked confused. "Hey, why did you get up?" he complained. His face was set in a frown. I hated seeing him frowning. I went over to him, lightly kissing his lips. "I have to go talk to your parents." I reminded him. Recognition lit up his face. He nodded, understanding. "Would you come with me?" I asked him. "I thought you'd never ask." He replied, smiling a cute smile.

He got off the bed, and we opened his bedroom door, walking out into the hallway. Seth grabbed my hand. His warm hand felt nice in mine. Since Mr. and Mrs. Westerfeld's room was right down the hall, we were there in less than a minute.

I took a deep breath, looking over at Seth. "Are you ready?" I asked him. "I'm ready." He responded. "The real question is, are you ready?" He asked me, looking into my eyes. I pondered over this, finally replying. "I'm ready." I replied. "Well, then let's do this." Seth said, smiling. Taking a deep breath, I knocked on the door, getting ready to meet my fate.
