Remmy's POV
Violet looked up from the computer, a look of shock on her face. Good. Seeing her react in this intended way made me smile. "Um, how long?" She asked blinking rapidly and trying to focus. "Three days. Until the end of the week." Her eyes bulged slightly before they moved down to the screen.
"Would you like a suite or a regular room?" She asked, not taking her eyes off the screen. "Suite." I replied. I always got the best of everything, and this stay was not any different. Her reaction did not change from its professional detached look when she held up my key. It was an old fashioned one, brass and small. She held it up to me, dropping it into my awaiting hand.
"Your room number is 12. It's on the second floor. Your total will be $200.00. What are you going to pay with?" She asked me. "Credit." I replied on relfex. My parents had gotten me a platinum credit card when I was fourteen, and since then, I had bought everything on it. My parents had never criticized me for how much I spent, although I know I'd spent plenty enough.
I pulled my credit card out of my purse where I always kept it and handed it toward her. She quickly typed in something on the computer before handing it back to me. "Okay, you're all set." She replied, putting on a happy face. I could easily see through her facade. "Thanks" I replied, giving her a small smile. She smiled back, tenatively. I could barely contain my glee.
I walked toward my bag and started to walk away. She stopped me right as I started to make my way up the stairs. "Oh, miss?" I turned around. "Breakfast is served from 8:00 until 10:00. Lunch is served from 11:00 to 1:00 and dinner is from 5:00 until 8:00." Her face was composed, but I could still see the uncertainty, and maybe fear? in her eyes. The next three days were going to be so much fun. This was only the beginning.
I nodded my head, indicating I had heard her. And then, just for the heck of it, I told her, "Oh, and you can call me Remmy." She stared at me for a second, making sure I wasn't joking probably, before a small, tenative smile spread across her face. "Enjoy your stay. Remmy. And my name's Violet." Violet. I was glad I had learned her name; it would come in handy later. I then waved and turned. Grabbing my bag, I made my way up the stairs. I was glad I wasn't on the first floor; I would have a better view of the ocean from higher up. Checking each door, I finally found my room number. Retrieving my key from my pocket, I turned it into the knob and made my way inside.
It was cute, even I had to admit. To the right of the entryway was a small sitting area, complete with antique chairs and tables. Ahead of me were French doors. Making my way to them, I thrust them open, happy to see a nice sized bedroom. There was a bathroom connected to it. Walking back out of the bedroom, I saw a small kitchen was located across from the sitting area. Searching some more, I even found a small closet where I could put my suitcase and belongings.
Once I finished unpacking my clothes and belongings, I fell back on my bed. Staring up at the ceiling, I thought about everything I hoped to achieve during my stay here. Organizing my thoughts, I thought back on the major goals of my plan. I would make sure I kept an eye on Mason and Violet. A very close eye. I didn't want him to spend any more time with her. Mason was mine, NOT Violet's. I remember how I had gone out with Seth just so I could get to know Mason better. Closing my eyes, I began to think back to last year and all its ups and downs.
I was freshman in high school. I was attending Brookside Lincoln High School, the most exclusive school in Long Beach, California. Only the kids with rich parents could afford to go, although the occasional scholarship student attended. They were ignored, though, so it was sort of like they didn't attend. They stayed out of everybody's way and we let them be.
Anyways, I was always in the "IN" crowd because of my looks and my parents' money, I"m sure. Always getting invited to parties and being flirted with by the hottest guys in school, I was one of the most envied girls in school. I still am, and am eager to return to my head spot when I return back to school this fall. However, even though all of these guys were flirting with me, I found that I didn't feel any real genuine, true feelings for them. That was until I met Mason.
