Violet's POV

I knocked on the door, waiting. Seth squeezed my hand, and looking over, he gave me an encouraging smile. I smiled back tentatively. The door creaked open. I swallowed, feeling more prepared and ready than ever before.

Mrs. Westerfeld poke her head out, probably wondering who was knocking on her door. When she saw Seth and me, she motioned for us to come inside. Still holding Seth's hand, I made my way into the master suite. It really was a suite. A king size bed was situated in the middle of the room. The bed was neatly made, not a pillow out of place. A nightstand was situated on each side of the bed. The cream colored curtains had been pulled back, letting in the glistening sunlight.

"Just make yourself comfortable." Mrs. Westerfeld told me. She headed over into another room, probably looking for Mr. Westerfeld. I made my way over to an antique sofa. It was only meant for one person, but there were two of us. I looked over to Seth, feeling awkward. "Um, I'll just stand." He shook his head furiously. "No, no, no. There will be none of that." He assured me. "Well, we can't both fit in the seat. It's for one person only." I argued. "We'll figure somethng out." Just then, we both spotted an extra chair in the corner.  "I call sofa!" We both yelled at the same time. We laughed and without a moment to lose, I shouted, "Nose goes!" I quickly put my finger up to my nose. I know it's a cheap way to win, but it had always worked for me in the past.

Seth looked at me with amusement before giving in. "Fine" he grumbeled. I laughed, leaning up towards him. He eagerly leaned down, and our lips briefly met. I quickly pulled away, though, knowing Seth's parents would be showing up pretty soon. I took the sofa while Seth dragged the chair by the sofa.

Right as were sitting down, Mr. and Mrs. Westerfeld came into the room. They sat down on two chairs that were facing us. There was silence for a moment before Mr. Westerfeld spoke up. "So have you made up your mind yet?" I nodded my head. "Yes, Mr. Westerfeld. If the offer is still open, I would like to accept your internship offer." To my surpise, my voice sounded confident. "Yes, the offer is still available. The internship is yours." Wait that was it? No interview? I don't have to tell them my life story or anything? "Really? I asked, disbelief in my voice. "Of course! You are just the perfect young woman that we need working for our company." Mrs. Westerfeld said, looking at me.

"Thank you so much!" I found myself short of breath. Without thinking, I got up, giving Mr. and Mrs. Westerfeld a hug. For a second, they were stiff, not expecting it, but after a moment, they hugged me back. When I realized my mistake, I pulled back, embarassed. I know my cheeks were warming. "Sorry." I apologized. What had I been thinking? I got caught up in the moment. "You're fine!" Mr. Westerfeld assured me, chuckling a little. He winked at me and I couldn't help but smile.

"So.... when do I leave?" I asked them. I figured they would say in three weeks, which was a week before school started. That way, I would have time to settle in and be ready for my new school. But what they told me I never saw coming. "You can leave at the end of the week with us."
