I would leave with the Westerfelds at the end of the week? That meant I only had four days left at the Seaside Retreat! For a moment, I couldn't respond, instead just gaping. When I was finally able to again gain control, a smile made its way onto my face.
"Seriously!" Wow, what an awesome response. Not. Mr. and Mrs. Westerfeld smiled at me, nodding. "I'll get packed as soon as I can." I promised. Looking over at Seth, I saw that his eyes were lit in excitement. He was smiling, and when he saw me looking at him, his smile became even warmer. I blushed, looking away.
Staring back at Mr. and Mrs. Westerfeld, I continued. "What would you recommend I pack?" They thought about it for a moment before Mrs. Westerfeld responded, "You can just bring a suitcase full of clothes and necessities." "I still can't believe I'm going all the way across the country!" I was so excited, I couldn't help my outburst. I looked at Mr. and Mrs. Westerfeld sheepishly, but they just smiled at me. I sighed in relief.
"Well, I should probably start getting packed." I commented, beginning to get up. They nodded, and I reached over to shake their hands. I looked over at Seth, who was still smiling, and took his hand. The warmth it brought was comforting. I started to walk out of the room, still holding Seth's hand.
I opened the door, and the minute it was closed, Seth enclosed on me. I leaned against the wall, with Seth's arms on both sides of me. His face was inches from mine, and I felt his warm breath on my face. Involuntarily, I leaned towards him. Our faces were inches from each other.
"Let's finish what we started." I whispered, leaning up and closing the remaining inches between us. Seth's beautiful brown eyes lit up and he eagerly leaned down. Our lips met. Seth's hands held my face gently. I moved my hands, locking them securely around Seth's neck. He leaned in more eagerly, increasing the intesity of the kiss.
His lips moved down to my neck, and I took a much needed breath. "I should go and pack," I said, my voice breathless. Seth didn't respond, instead moving his lips back to mine. He pulled back too soon, and I frowned. He laughed, cupping my face in his hand. I leaned into his hand, savoring his touch.
"How did I get so lucky?" He asked me. I was shocked. "Are you serious?" I asked him. "I'm the lucky one." I told him. He smiled. "You can pack later. I want to teach you something first." He smiled mischeviously, taking my hand in his.
He pulled me down the hall. I laughed, jogging to keep up with his quick pace. "What are you going to teach me?" I asked. Seth didn't respond, instead just looking over at me and smiling. I gulped, nervous about what he was planning.
----------------------------------
Forty-five minutes later I was on the beach with Seth. We had seperated temporarily, going into our rooms to change. Seth still hadn't told me what he was going to teach me, but he had told me to change into beach clothes.
Obediently, I had changed into my swimsuit and put on short jean shorts with a yellow v neck. Seth had already been waiting for me. Smiling, I had made my way to him, and we had walked to the beach, where we now were.
"So what are you going to teach me?" I asked Seth. "Football."He responded, flashing me a grin. "Really?" I asked him. He must have mistaken my response for uncertainty beacuse he was quick to respond, "It's okay, I'll have you playing like a pro in no time." I was barely able to keep a straight face.
The truth was that I was very good at football. My older cousin, Drew, who is two years older than me, had taught me how to play. Every time we would get together, he would practice with me, and he was impressed with how fast I learned the sport. I could throw a rofcket and Drew could never catch me when I had the ball.
I decided to pretend like I couldn't play. "Okay, so you hold the football like this." He demonstrated how to hold the football. He had his fingers on the laces of the football. "And when you throw it, it should make a spiral. Like this. Go long!" He instructed me. I laughed, rolling my eyes at him and took off sprinting.
Seth threw the ball with a perfect spiral. It made its way down and I situated myself so I would have the best angle to catch it. The ball spiraled down and came down right into my awaiting arms.
I sprinted back to Seth, where he was looking at me with shock on his face. I chuckled at his expression, handing the ball back to him. "What-how-how did you catch that?" He asked me, confusion on his face. "Raw talent." I responded, shrugging my shoulders.
"Do you want to throw the ball now?" Seth asked. I shook my head up and down, a smile forming on my face. Seth reached over to hand me the ball. Right as I was about to take the ball from him, he pulled the ball back.
Before I could react, Seth reached his arm out, grabbing me by my waist. Laughing, I looked up at Seth. His chin was resting on my shoulder. Twisting my head as much as I could, I kissed Seth. He kissed me back, wrapping his arms around my waist protecitvely.
Soon, I pulled back. Seth looked disappointed. "There's time for that later." I told him, touching the tip of his nose with my pointer finger. Seth caught my hand in his, and brought it to his face, kissing my hand softly. I shivered slightly from his touch.
He let go of my hand. He started to back away, preparing for me to throw the ball. Getting my fingers situated, I pulled my arm back. Taking a step, I threw the ball with all I had. The ball spiraled perfectly, making its way straight to Seth. He caught it.
Making his way back to me, I saw that Seth had a wide grin on his face. I couldn't help grinning in response. Before he say anything to me, I ran up to him, jumping on top of him. Wrapping my legs around his waist, I gave him a boa constuctor hug.
Seth laughed, whispering into my ear, "You've been hiding things from me." I kissed his cheek, telling him mischeviously, "there's a lot you don't know about me." Seth didn't respond, instead kissing me. I kissed him back, wrapping my arms around his neck. Nothing could make this day more perfect.
