Violet's POV
I made my way up the stairs, going to the guest bedrooms. I started to change the sheets of the beds. I fluffed pillows and changed out old bedsheets with new ones. Luckily, making up the beds was the only job I had to do in the guest rooms. My parents vacuumed, dusted, and cleaned the bathroom. I got lucky with jobs. My parents let me off easy because they wanted me to have time to do my homework. Right now it didn't matter though, because it was summertime.
I pulled my cell phone out of my pocket and checked the time. It was six. I needed to be ready by six thirty, so my parents and I could leave and get to dinner with Seth and his parents, which was at seven. I found myself involuntarily blushing just thinking about Seth. I shook my head, embarassed. At least no one was around.
I quickly finished up making the remaining beds, and went to my room to get ready, I retrieved the dress I had bought today from the closet. I couldn't help holding it up and staring at it in awe. It really was a beautiful dress. For a second, I almost felt unworthy of wearing it, but I quickly brushed this thought away.
I broke out of my daydream and went into the bathroom. Although most girls need a lot time to get ready, I don't. I can quickly shower and fix my hair. I hardly wear any makeup either, so that cuts back on time too. I quickly turned on the shower, and stepped in. The warm water relaxed my muscles, and I could feel my worries washing away. I even started to sing a little in the shower, but not loud enough for anyone to hear.
After the shower, I quickly blowdried my hair and put on the dress. The silk was smooth on my legs. I then curled my hair, so it was curly and yet wavy at the same time. I smiled, satisfied, and put a little eyeliner and mascara on. I looked in my reflection. I had let my hair fall loosely down my back. My dark brown wavy hair went half way down my back. The dress fit like a glove. I smiled at my reflection and walked back into my room. I put on my shoes and got my clutch. I then took a deep breath and smiled. This was it. I didn't know why I felt nervous, but I kept assuring myself everything was going to be okay. It's not like anything unexpected was going to happen, I laughed at myself for even thinking this. If I only knew how wrong I was........
Seth's POV
After my parents had told me their big announcent, I had walked back to my room to get ready for dinner tonight. I pullled out a tux. I even bought a rose today, though I hadn't told Violet, that I was going to give to her at dinner tonight. It matched the rose that would be on my tux. Was that too cheesy? I worried. I decided that I would give it to her. I hoped she wouldn't think I was being weird or anything. I quickly took a shower and dried my hair off, messying it up.
I found myself fantasizing about Violet's hands in my hair, pulling me closer to her, our lips meeting.... Stop. I told myself. Don't get carried away. I went and sat at my bed. Looking over at my alarm clock, I saw that I still had a couple of minutes to spare. I thought back on what my parents had told me about Violet. The oppertunity they were going to offer her tonight was unbelievable. I hoped she would accept it. I guess we would see tonight.
I realized with a start that I'd been lost in my owns thoughts. I got up quickly and left my room, getting ready to go to dinner. Tonight was defiently not going to be boring.
