An Alternate Heartland

Amy was 17 and Life was starting to improve since she suffered serious injuries in the crash that killed her mother and almost killed her when she was 16 and a half.
Amy was kept in a Medically induced Coma for the first Month and then spent another three months in hospital.
She started Dating Jesse (who was 19)  not long after her 16th Birthday, he was on Probation and  working for Jack and Marion.
Jack promised Val to have Jesse as he knew the Family and Jesse was a bit of a Bad Lad as Jack put it.
Val Stanton had sold Briar Ridge to a rich Family and she had moved her whole Enterprise to Florida.
Val gave Jesse a choice, stay in Hudson or move to Florida at the end of his probation.
They lived on Heartland which belonged to Marion's Father Jack Bartlett.
Tim, and Amy lived in there own 4 Bedroom Ranch House which was halfway down the main Heartland Driveway, Marion and Tim had there own Pastures,  16 Stable Barn, Hay feed barn, and 3 Training Rings. They'd even built a Race Track all around the Edge of there property so Marion could even help Racehorses.
Jack bred Whiteface Cattle and was in partnership with Tim who gave up the Rodeo to create a home and steady income for his Family, he and Marion always wanted two or three  children , and they had Amy and her ten year older sister Lou who Tim thought the world of as she was more like him, Amy was more like Marion.
Occasionally Marion and Tim would take on a Boy or Girl who would come from a troubled background, so far they had helped 2 with great results for them. One was Scott, there First one who was now there local Vet and a Girl named Jenny who became a Barrel Racer and went on the Rodeo circuit after Tim introduced her to the sport.
Before the Crash, Jack had taken on Jesse Stanton who was cocky and thought of himself as a Ladies man even though he was only 18 yrs old at the time. He knew Amy but not who she really was, Amy was a real Cowgirl and took no BS, but Amy was in Hospital.
Jack had met Lisa who owned Fairfield Stables and they were both interested in each other.
Unfortunately after Tim lost Marion he turned to drink, and the fact that he didn't know if Amy was going to survive didn't help his downward spiral into Alcoholic oblivion.

Day of the crash

Tim hadn't been feeling very well so Marion offered to take Amy with her to rescue a Horse from a known Horse thief who sells them to the meat trucks, whether its a thoroughbred or someone's loving Pet, he didn't care.
"Dad, were going now, love ya, see you later".
"Okay Amy, be careful and watch ya Mum doesn't hurt that bloke too much".
"Will do Dad". Laughing to herself.
Marion and Amy set off towards the Farm they'd had a tip about, but half way there they noticed the change in the weather.
"This bad weathers rolled in quicker than I like Amy".
"Looks more like a Storm Mum".
"Here's the Place, let's get this done quickly".
"Okay, I'll open the Trailer ".
Marion walks to the Barn and when she opens it up she's disgusted at the state of what looks to be a thoroughbred Mare, and hanging in the corner was the carcass of another horse or what used to be a horse, she was so glad that Amy hadn't come in with her.
The bloke comes round the corner pushing Amy over into the mud face first. "Get off my property Girl".
"Who the hell are you talking too, and that is my Daughter you Just Assaulted ".
This is my property now get off it".
If I remember correctly, you were banned from having any Animal's on your Farm, so let's phone the Police shall we".
"There's no need for that".
"Okay then, as long as you sign a change of ownership and a bill of sale to my Daughter for the horse as you Assaulted her".
"Yeah, okay".
The Mare was loaded into the Trailer and he gave Amy The Papers to prove she now owned her.
They set off on there way home Just as the storm broke and all hell was let loose.
"MUMMM".
