The Lost Reaper

Chapter Three

"I'm sorry. You don't know what you are talking about," I tried to reason out.

"I'm completely aware of what I was talking."

Napapikit nalang ako at yumuko. He's obviously not an easy man to talk to. Flattered by his sudden confession but I'm not interested.

"Enchanted by my reaper, I see."

Halos magkasabay kaming napalingon kay Kenjie na kararating lang. That annoying smirk on his face just won't go away. He's eyeing Ryu from head to toe.

"Kenjie. It's been a long time."

"Indeed," he glanced at me before diverted it again to Ryu. "Attractive, isn't she?"

Ramdam ko ang sarili na namumula kaya umiwas ako ng tingin. I don't get it. Everyone calls me pretty but for me it was nothing. Pero kapag si Kenjie na, nakakaramdam ako ng hiya.

"Wala naman sigurong namamagitan sa inyong dalawa, hindi ba?" Ryu asked.

"Just a reaper and an official relationship. Why?"

"I'm just thinking of having her."

Kenjie laughed as if it was the funniest joke that he ever heard. Kumunot yung noo ni Ryu sa inasal ni Kenjie habang ako naman at kaswal lang siyang tiningnan. Minsan naisip ko na talaga na baliw siya. Maybe he's gone mad because of this chaotic world he is living. I can't blame him. Kahit sino naman talaga ay mababaliw sa mundong ito.

"Sadly, you can't. She stays by my side."

"Why are you being possessive?"

Napalingon ako sa direksyon ni Kenjie. Is it what I think it is? Is he being possessive of me? Of course, I don't want to keep my hopes up but I'm just thinking.

"I'm possessive of everything under my possession and I thought you should've known that by now."

Ryu shook his head.

"Hindi mo naman siguro kunin mula sa kanya ang personal life niya, hindi ba?"

"Everything of her is mine. Don't you dare step on the line," madiin na sabi ni Kenjie.

They're staring at each other as if their life depends on it. Walang gustong sumuko sa titigan and I think we are going nowhere if we keep this up.

"With all due respect, sirs. Shouldn't you be in dinner with the King?"

Naputol yung titigan nila at lumingon sa akin. I almost choke in my own saliva. Almost.

"Save by the bell," Ryu smirked. "See you when I see you."

He stepped closer to me and took my hand, places it in front of him and kissed it without cutting eye-contact. I blinked twice. Never did I expect that.

He smiled at me but I didn't returned the smile which made him smirked. He nodded before turning away, leaving me and Kenjie watching his back until he disappeared from our eye sight.

"Never let him get into you," Kenjie started. "Matinik sa babae si Ryu pero may tiwala ako sa iyo. I know you won't fall for his charms." He then turned to me with his eyes on my hand. "You are mine, Heather. Prove your loyalty to me."

"I am your reaper and will forever serve you, my Bishop."

He nodded in satisfaction. He knew that my loyalty belongs to him. I owe my life to him. Without him, I could be dead by now. Hindi niya ako sinukuan nung kritikal yung buhay ko.
