“ATOM.” I hear a voice yell from the other room. “Coming.” I sigh, setting down the book I was reading. “Marco called a meeting.” Angelo said urgently. “Finally some action, it's been so boring lately.” I say as I stretch my arms up.
I walk to the conference room and hear Marco yelling nonsense in Italian. “This should be fun.” I sigh to Angelo then open the doors. “Non è sicuro!" I hear Marco yell, his accent more prompt than usual. (Translation from Italian: It's not safe!). “Nonno?” I question as I open the door.
“Atom.” His head snaps in my direction. “Oh grazie a Dio.” He sighs in relief. (Translation from Italian: Oh thank god.) “What's going on?” I ask curiously and walk to my regular spot.
“The people targeting you..” Marco runs his hand through his hair. “What about Yui and Kanjiharu?” I ask as I sit down in my seat.
“They haven't attacked you once since school started.” Marco stated as he continued. “Oh ya, I noticed that yesterday..” I hummed curiously. “Maybe they just care about my education.” I add, trying to come up with an explanation for the lack of attacks.
“Something is going on.” Marco sighed as he pulled on his black hair. “Don't stress too much or your hair will turn white.” I giggled, receiving a glare. “Ok not the time for jokes..” I rolled my eyes.
“Anyways we have a drug shipment coming in three days. Atom you make sure it gets to the warehouse and is secure until we can start distributing.” Marco states after he slams his hands down on the table.
“Migeul, I need you to accompany Atom as her second-in-command on this mission.” Marco added to his original sentence.“Sì signore.” Miggy and I said before Marco went rant on about the rest of the plan and future events.(Translation from Italian: “Yes, sir.”)
“So when are you gonna meet that Lilly chick?” Miggy asked me as we walked down the hallways to go to my room. “Pretty soon, as in I mean later.. Jay seems very overprotective of her.” I say with a sigh.
“She sounds cool so I wouldn’t stress it.” Miggy shrugs, not thinking twice about it. “Miggy she sounds like me.. So as your best friend I love you but also as your best friend you need to get a better understanding of the female species." I shake my head.
"You're amazing, I don't know what you're talking about." Miggy laughs, making me roll my eyes. "I mean it." He says and kisses my cheek. "Gross affection." I laugh. "You love it, you'll just never admit it." Miggy says and wraps his arm around me.
"Whatever I need help with picking out an outfit." I say as I open my door. "Where are you going?" Miggy asks curiously as he shut the door and walks to sit in one of the chairs in my room.
"Casual lunch." I say as I start stripping off my clothes as I walk to my closet. "Hmm." Miggy hums as he watches me. "I was thinking black ripped jeans, red criss cross top, and a black leather jacket." I yell out as I try to find the selected outfit.
"Sounds good to me." Miggy yawns and runs his hands through his hair. "Oh ya you're coming with I don't feel like taking someone else." I peek my head out of the door frame of my closet. "But do I have to?" He groans dramatically. "Yup you're my bodyguard, it's literally your job." I yell to him as I put on the outfit.
"But that means I have to look presentable." He whines. "Oh dear Lucifer, you sound like me." I grumble. "I'll let you have a week off." I say trying to reason, walking out of my closet. "Fine." Miggy sighs as he gets up. "Great, put this on." I threw some clothes at him.
"Where the fuck?" Miggy stares at the clothes he just caught. "We've learned not to question me and to just go with it." I smile at him. Miggy just shook his head and put on the outfit I chose and looked in my full length mirror.
"Really?" He asks, narrowing his eyes while looking at the outfit. "You look hot." I choke on my water. "Bitch I always look hot." Miggy rolls his eyes. "Hmm. You look cuter when you're underneath me begging.” I hummed as I walked past him and opened the door and swung around the corner into the hallway.
“That happened one time.” Miggy yelled to me, causing me to laugh from his reaction. “And I'd gladly do it again.” I turned around and smirked at him as I continually walked backwards. “What chu guys talking about?” Venus asked, grabbing my small bag from my hands and started going through it.
“How Miggy is a subby little bitch in bed. And also give me my bag back.” I say as I lunge to get my bag but Venus holds it out of my reach. “Ya know i can totally see Miggy like that. And also no.” Venus smiled at me. “I dont have the energy for this. Can you please just give me my bag?” I glare at the much taller boy.“Beg for it.” Venus smirks mischievously and tilts his head. “I dont beg.” I deadpanned looking up at the boy. “Beg like you were last night.” Venus bit his lip. “And that's how we know youve never gotten with her.” Miggy chimes in and grabs my bag from Venus.
“Oh and you have?” Venus raised his eyebrows looking at Miggy. “Yes.” He deadpanned and walked away. I laughed and followed Miggy down the hallway. “See ya Venus.” I yelled to the boy and ran the rest the way to Miggy.
“Can we take the motorcycle today?” I asked after I put on some chapstick. “I was kinda planning on it.” Miggy replied as he grabbed his helmet from the closet across from the garage. My helmet was black with a blue phoenix and had the franzese family symbol on it but the usual red was blue. I also had Kad built in to it mainly for a GPS.
The original Franzese Family symbol. It was just our last name and then barbed wire on the corners on the page, but over the years it changed. This symbol had been around since the founders created the gang in 8the 1840's back in Italy. Every leader adds something to it. Now our last name is in a bold white font with red horns above the letters, The barbed wire had never been changed, the words were surrounded by a glowing circle which was half red and half black.
“Ready?” Miggy asked me as he sat on the bike and started the engine. “Wait.” I say as I take off his helmet. “What?” He blinks at me. I peck him and smile then put on my helmet. “Ok now i'm ready.” I say as I get on the back of the bike.
“I fucking hate you.” Miggy blushes as he puts on his helmet. “I love you too.” I laugh in reply. “So where are we headed?” Miggy asked as he drove out of the garage and down the driveway. “Go to that cute suburban part of the city that I love and I'll give directions from there, it'll be easier.” I say in reply. “I've literally lived in Los Angeles my entire life.” Miggy laughs. “Sounds like a you problem.” I stretch my arms out as we drive down the highway.
“Whatever you wanna say.” Miggy shakes his head causing him to swerve. “Hey! Eyes on the road!” I hit Miggy's back as I held onto him tighter. “I won't let you die.” He laughs. “Brooo Nonno would kill you if i died.” I wince at the image of the painful death of the consequences of that action. I cringe thinking of the thought of the gruesome scene.
As we rode part way into the city I observed the town I had grown to love more and more every time I went out. Plants and palm trees, houses and hotels, street signs and street lights. Everything contributed to the place I adored despite constantly almost being killed. I still wasn't often allowed outside but I've grown from absolutely hating the outdoors to loving it. Every ounce of nature I could get I loved, that's why at school I spent the majority of my time in the school garden.
“Hey, take a left here.” I tell Miggy as I have KAD give me directions to the restaurant. “And a right.” I yawn as we come up to a road. “And then a right in half a mile.” I add wrapping my arms around Miggy.
“Oh ya apparently Lilly is gonna have her friend Myles with her.” I say as I try to grab a leaf hanging from a tree. “Ok, turn here?” Miggy said as he prepared ro turn. “Yup.” I held on to Miggy for the sharp corner. “Wait, don't tell me we're going to where I think we're going.” Miggy groaned in annoyance.
“My favorite coffee shop in all of Los angeles? The one with cats and maid outfits?” I ask sweetly. “So we are going there?” Miggy complained. “No, I'm a little more professional than that, unfortunately.” I sigh in disappointment.
Not long after we arrived at the restaurant. I was very pleased with the cottagecore aesthetic. “Hey.” I saw a beautiful short girl-about my height-with curly platinum blonde haired girl with skin almost as pale as mine walk up to me with a boy who was hugging her from behind. “I’m Lilly.” The girl held out her hand with a faint smile on her face.
