"She's gonna get too powerful if we don't do something!" Yui shouted as they banged their hands against the table. "Mom chillout. You remember what it was like being in school, she has a ton of stress on her with her classes so maybe if we don't attack her until the school year is over she will be weakened." A kind but serious feminine voice said."Fine but if something happens the blood is on your hands, Lio." Kanjiharu told his daughter. "I know dad." Lio said as she sat in her chair twirling a butterfly knife. "Marco is trying to get her stronger so she can take over his gang." Yui said for about the hundredth time since learning about Atoms existence.
"Lio I need you to get close to Atom and kill her when the time is right!" Kanjiharu said as he shot the pool table across the room. "Yes father." Lio said as she got up from her seat and walked towards the door.
"We'll leave the plans up to you, just tell us as soon as possible." Yui told her daughter. "Will do." Lio grabbed her leather jacket from the rack and walked out the door.
"I fucking hate it there." Lio mumbled under her breath as she put on her helmet and started her green and black motorcycle that had a dragon on the side of it.
September 15th
"Heeeeyyyyyy." A cheerful Lio said as she walked in the large mansion with her arms full of gift bags. "Aunty Lio!!" The sounds of voices and footsteps rattled through the hallways.
"Hey you three come downstairs." Daichi told the triplets who were all training in the dojo.
"What's up?" Diego panted as he stood in a fighting position. "Lios here." Daichi grinned. Kai immediately perked up and dropped his arms. "Wait, aunty Lio is here?!" Kai almost burst in excitement.
Kai got a fist to the gut and dropped to the floor groaning. "You let your guard down." Atom smirked and brushed her hair out of her face. "Exploiting a weak spot and attacking while a second party is unprepared... That's dirty." Daichi smiled, almost proud.
"Well I've never played fair, and that's exactly why I'm still alive." Atom said as she walked over and grabbed her water bottle. "Well I'm gonna go take a shower to get the blood off me." Atom panted and walked off. "Same here, I'll be downstairs in fifteen." Diego said and followed the direction Atom went.
"That's probably a smart idea." Kai laughed and followed his two older siblings. Daichi smiled as he watched his three younger siblings run off. Daichi had seen some of Atom's walls come down since they had first met and he saw the girl's serious persona slowly turn into a more playful one. She was the middle ground between Kai and Diego.
"Really you plan on wearing boots?" Diego laughed. "Boots look good with everything!" Atom said defensively. "And who told you that?" Kai tilted his head curiously and sarcastically.. "My aunt Summer did." Atom said hesitantly then shook her head.
"It's fall, I'm wearing boots." Atom said then grabbed a sweater to tie around her waist. "Fair enough." Diego said then got up from his chair. Kai ran out of the room nearly bursting in excitement while Diego and Atom chuckled as they followed him.
"Aunt Lio!!" Atom and Diego heard Kai shout as they walked towards the living room. "You ok?" Diego asked his sister. "Ya I just know something and I don't want to confront it." Atom sighs. "It's fine I got this." Atom gave a thumbs up. "Now go so I can make this dramatic." She giggles.
Diego rolled his eyes and went to go greet his aunt. "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid." Atom tried internally hyping herself up. Atom walked into the room and made eye contact with Lio. "Hey Atom." Lio smiled.
All Atom saw was her aunt Summer and all Atom could do was just stand there frozen with wide eyes. "Hey Atom and I are gonna go into the other room to talk real quick." Lio said as she stood up and walked out of the room. They both walked in silence and went into the kitchen.
"Atom, let me explain." Atom went up to her aunt and hugged her tightly. "I thought you were dead." Atom mumbled under her breath. "I'm so so sorry." Lio almost burst into tears while hugging her niece.
"Look Yui and Kanjiharu are trying to kill you and I'm gonna make sure that doesn't happen." Lio said as she continued to hug Atom. "I know." Atom took a deep breath and let go. "Your mother was an amazing person and I see her in you. I know this isn't fair to put this on you but you need to kill them before they can kill you. These small attempts are just practice runs in order to see your patterns so I need you to stop fighting and let the others fight for you. I'm aware how stubborn and independent you are and try to be but this is a time not to be messing around." Lio told the younger girl very seriously.
"Why can't we just sort this out? They don't have to kill me. What's the point of this?" Atom deadpanned. "I promise I'll explain everything." Lio said as she handed her a small burner phone. "But right now let's go deal with our family." Lio added.
"Great another phone I have to remember to hide and not lose." Atom laughs. "What?" Lio raises her eyebrows. Atom then started grabbing phones and then placed them one by one on the table.
Lio stares at the pile of phones now on the kitchen counter. She started laughing and shook her head. "Wow you haven't changed a bit." Lio laughed at her niece.
"It's nice to have you be back A-Bomb." Lio patted Atom's head. That nickname as ironic as it sounded made her feel safe and secure for a moment.
"It's gonna be much better with you around Sums- hmm should we pick a new nickname because the... Well ya.." Atom said.
"Ya probably." Lio said as they started walking back to the living room. "Oh perfect!" Atom snapped her fingers. "What?" Lio asked her.
"So Lio is like Lilo and Summer has the S so I'm just gonna call you Stitch." Atom said out loud, fully aware her brain makes no sense. "Ya know what, yes." Lio nodded in approval before they entered the living room.
"So I'm sure you all saw the presents." Lio smiled and grabbed one of the bags and shook it lightly. "Did you get me a sword?!" Oakley almost screamed. "I wanted to little man but your dad said no." Lio laughed at her nephew.
Everyone was given presents that they were thrilled with because unlike most relatives Lio paid attention to her nephews interests. "Here Atom." Lio smiled as she handed her a gift bag.
Atom raised her eyebrows looking at the bag and grabbed it. Atom slowly opened the bag and moved the gift wrap. She stopped stunned for a moment. "You didn't." Atom says wide eyed.
"I did." Lio smirked. "What?" Isaac scoffed. "Crystals..." Atom gently grabbed the box out of the bag. "I don't understand." Some of the boys said.
"Holy shit is this fire opal?!" Atom asked excitedly as she pulled out one of the crystals. "Well of course it is." Lio laughed at her reaction. "Thank you." Atom smiled brightly. "No problem sweety." Lio replied.
"I don't understand... Its just crystals?" Isaac blinked in confusion. "Its my current hyper fixation. Do not judge me." Atom said as she kept inspecting the rocks.
"So how's school going for everyone?" Lio asked. "Well first day of school I was told Isaac was gonna be in the class Hiro wasn't in cause hiros in all my classes but one and I was fed false information so I have a class with none of my brothers but I have Miggy in all my classes cause Nonno pulled some strings so I'm never alone so it's a mix between nice and hell." Atom rants then her focus goes right back to the crystals.
"Wait Atom are you wearing boots?" Toshi asked his daughter. "Yes." Atom said with no hesitation. "Why." Toshi shook his head. "Because my aunt said boots look good with everything." Atom said dramatically and looked at Lio who just smiled and winked at her.
Lio remembered telling her niece that when Atom was in first grade, Atom had always said the same thing every time anyone had ever asked her that question after that. Lio looked at Atom and for the first time in almost a year she felt truly happy.
When Atom and Lio used to have brunch dates it wasn't just because it was fun, part of it was a coping mechanism for the both of them to escape from their crazy lifes and just to relax. Lio was thinking about how Emila and Lio used to go out to brunch and Lio started doing that with Atom and how she wanted to start doing that again.
