Kianna was sick of crying.

It was going on a couple of months since she and her ex fiancé broke up, and she had been a wreck for the entirety of it. She cried constantly—barley eating or sleeping, and she was starting to get tired of having to put herself, her family, and her friends through that mess.

It had been a while since she dressed up and actually took care of herself (the braids she had in for months prior finally starting to get taken down) and as she ran the comb through her thick curly hair feeling as it got caught in the tangles, she felt like dropping right back in bed and bawling.

She hated feeling like this and she hated the power he had over her emotions even with all the time that had passed. But when Kianna loved someone, she loved them with everything she had. And god did she really love Asíah.

He wasn't her first boyfriend but they had been together the longest, surviving through senior year of high school and long distance in college. Sure they had their ups and downs, but she truly gave everything to him just for him to randomly 'no longer feel ready for this relationship'.

That was utter shit.

Kianna wasn't ugly, at least she thought she wasn't. Her skin was a deep brown that she always had lathered in coco butter, or vanilla scented body oil. She had doe—like brown eyes, which she inherited from her mother, and a slender nose. Her lips weren't the biggest but they were very full and always had a slight pink tone because of the constant habit of nibbling her lip.

Kianna was also taller than other women, standing at 5'8, but her body was some what slim, her thighs and her stomach having a bit of pudge—an effect from all the confections and sweets she constantly ate—that flowed into her natural curves and to her ass that also had something to show.

At first, Kianna did a lot of things to try to get over what happened. Partying, sex, drinking, you name it. She was young, and was trying to have 'fun' being single. In the end, it simply brought Kianna to the realization that she was more of a relationship type of girl making her feel even more sorry for herself.

A loud snap of a comb broke Kianna out her thoughts, as she held a piece of the broken comb in her hand with the other piece stuck in her hair.

"See this shit," She kissed her teeth, picking the comb pieces out of her hair and throwing them into the trash.

"This really bout to piss me off." Kianna spoke to herself as she gathered her hair into a bun and wrapped her laying scarf around her head.

She walked out of her bathroom and into her bedroom, maneuvering herself past all the clothes and trash that laid on the floor. She tried not to think to much on the mess, only reminding herself to clean it up because she knew that she would get upset if she focused to much on it.

Grabbing her phone and plugging it out of the charger she called her mom, Candace, ready to make a fuss about how much she was struggling with her hair.

The phone rung a few times, and she almost thought that she wasn't going to answer, when she heard her mama's voice flow through, "Hi, bug. How's mama's baby been doing? You feeling alright?"

Her moms voice was filled with worry, probably thinking the worst, and Kianna's heart swelled thinking of the nerves that she caused for the people she cared for.

"I'm fine mama, I've been doing better, but this head of mines is gonna make me catch a fit." Kianna sighed into the phone hoping to really show the distress she was going through.

"Im really not understanding why my hair isn't slicking back like that girl inna' video. I specifically searched up 4c hair, so what's the issue?"

Kianna's mom let out a laugh at the hurt in her daughters tone, "Bug, is that really what you called me for?" Candace said scoffing out a laugh

"Yes!" Kianna said, her face scrunching up at the fact that she was teasing her. "You're my mama, help me ...please." Candace chuckled into the speaker, continuing to chop up the onions for her dinner.

"If you want baby, I can call up Marie and see if she can do your hair, she had my ass lookin fly back then. You know she owns that new salon?" Candace asked.

Kianna normally did her own hair because she wasn't to keen on other people doing it, but maybe the idea wasn't so bad, plus it was her aunt and not some stranger, so it didn't take her long to agree.

"Aunt Marie? I haven't seen her inna while mama, when did she come back down?" Kianna asked curious. Marie wasn't actually Kianna's aunt just someone her family was very close with, before she moved down to Houston.

"Yes bug! I want to say around a month ago? She called me and we were catching up when she told me she got a salon down here, I've been meaning to pass by." She explained.

Kianna nodded her head at her mothers words, " Okay then, give her a call and let me know what she says. It's definitely been a while since I've seen ha', but in the meantime I think I'm gonna start cleaning up a bit."

"Okay baby, I'll talk to you later bug, love you."

"Love you too, mama."

The call was cut as Kianna hung up the phone and placed it back down on her dresser. She put her hands on her hip and surveyed her room trying to figure out where to begin first—the pile of clothes on the floor, or the pile of junk food and cans everywhere.

She, once again, maneuvered over the mess and left her room to make her way to the living room. The rest of Kianna's home was kept clean and neat, the living room and her kitchen was rarely ever dirty, her room only containing a mess.

It represented Kianna in a way. She never liked other people to have to see or tend to her problems, more than likely why she always kept the outside of her condo cleaner than her bedroom.

She crouched down below her kitchen sink and grabbed a couple garbage bags, and cleaning supplies. And then went into the storage closet and grabbed the broom and mop.

"Hey google!" She shouted as she shut the door back closed. "Put on my liked songs playlist." She waited a bit until she heard the soft beat of Frank Ocean play, nodding her head to the music before making her way to her room.
