♈︎Kianna swiped the blood she was tasting on her lip away, as she continued to nibble on the tissue. Her senses were on high alert, and she couldn't stop picking at the elastic band on her wrist.
Just moments ago, she had felt all the joyous and confident emotions she had prior, ripped out of her at the realization that she would be confronting both the men that emotionally abused her.
She hadn't even begun to tell Samir the extent of what Asíah did to her during their time together, only having the heart to face one reality at a time.
She grabbed her cup of water— regardless of the fact that they'd been seated only ten minutes she hadn't even attempted at looking at the menu or ordering anything— as she sipped on it to ease her nerves she asked again, "Why is he here dad?"
Raymond sighed, resting his fork in his dish as he responded, "Kianna. I can invite whoever I wish to a dinner, just like how you can do the same as well." He said curtly.
Normally, Kianna would leave her father's statement at that, never choosing to argue her side of things, and forcing herself to respect his decisions.
She licked over her lips as she searched for Samirs hand under the table, grasping it immediately and feeling comfort in the soft squeezes he sent her way.
Looking back at her father she spoke, nervously, "Yes, but why him?"
Raymond snapped his eyes towards Kianna instantly at the chatter, eyes narrowing a bit, but that was enough to make Kianna wish to swallow her words.
Before he could even open his mouth to reprimand her, the man next to him finally spoke, a soft chuckle escaping his lips as the words played out. "Why you acting like you'n miss me Seyana?"
The pause in Samirs calming actions didn't go unnoticed by Kianna has she turned her head to look at her boyfriend, his confused expression clear as day as he gave Asíah a hard stare.
Knowing her boyfriend, she could quickly tell when his mouth was about to get slick, and she tried to hold onto his hands as he unraveled them from hers.
"That's because I don't. And I never will." She said clearly to him, hoping the words finished whatever delusion he was going with.
His head bent to the side slightly, his dreads falling into his face a bit at the action, Kianna used to find adorable, but was looking at with annoyance seeing the smug look on his face.
"Don't try to act different in front of—" Asíah was cut off by Samir, who's brows were pinched together as he tried to figure out who exactly was speaking.
"Who you?" He asked simply, drawing all the attention to him as her father that was once enjoying his meal again, flicked his eyes up to look between the two men.
Kianna went back to pinching the elastic band on her skin. This was something she didn't want to happen. At least not yet.
Of course Samir knew of Asíah but he'd never seen him, he only knew the small details that Kianna had shared with him. She wasn't to sure how he'd react to her ex boyfriend suddenly being thrusted into his face but by the look he sported she could tell he was a bit agitated at being blind sided.
