♈︎Two days had passed since the last time Kianna had seen Samir, he'd been completely busy with prep for Rasheed's birthday and talks with his coach and she'd been booked all week with customers.
Today was Saturday and she was finally having some time to herself, although she missed seeing her boyfriend in person and not just on FaceTime.
It still felt surreal that she could call him that. In the past week that they'd been together despite not having much time to see eachother, she could definitely see Samirs efforts to keep her updated in his life. Efforts that she also tried to reciprocate.
The only good thing about the distance was that it gave Kianna enough time to order and pack the gifts that she had gotten him. It wasn't anything too much, just a little something to show how much she appreciated him for putting up with all her nonsense and giving her a chance.
Most of the things had already came, like his new personalized gym bag, some noise canceling beats, and new colognes for him.
The other things she wanted to get where coming in a few, she was planning on packing them up nicely and inviting him over to surprise him.
At the moment, she was finishing up a painting sipping on some wine as Bryson Tiller spilled into her room. She was completely relaxed and order free which she was enjoying to the fullest.
She dipped her paintbrush in the paint, and started finishing up the small details to her painting. she had been working on it for a while now and couldn't wait to add it into her home decor.
Picking up her glass, her phone buzzed to life, signaling to her that she was receiving a call. She grabbed it knowing that it had to be important if the person could call her despite her phone being on do not disturb.
"Kianna?" She heard the familiar voice of her mother say, "Hey bug, how have you been?" Candence's cheerful voice filled her ears.
Kianna glanced at the time on her Apple Watch, 3:10. It might've been her ears playing tricks on her but she could've sworn she heard her mothers words slurring together.
"I've been good mom, everything alright?" She asked skeptically, putting the phone on speaker so she could continue her work. Kianna could hear other voices on her mother's side, recognizing one of them as her Titi Marie.
"I'm good baby, just wondering when you boutta stop ignoring my son-in-law." Kianna stopped her light strokes as she choked out a laugh at her mother's long dramatic sigh.
Of course for the past couple of days her and Samir have been together they'd only been snuggled up under one another— a big reason as to why she'd been so backed up in orders—and she hadn't had time to update her mom on the news.
The last thing Kianna remembered telling Candence was that she got busy and never got around to texting him. And obviously a lot had happened since then.
"Your son-in-law?" Kianna repeated, making a face at the title. " And I been did, me and Samir are together, mama. Surprise." She added.
"Oh my lord! Kianna you serious?" Before Kianna could answer Candence spoke again, "It's bout time you stopped ignoring my son. No wonder he ain't been texting me no more bout updates on you."
