"Samir, baby, it's not even like that." She was embarrassed, anyone could hear it just from her tone as 17 year old Amour'e Jenkins attempted to calm down her heartbroken boyfriend.

Samir was silent, squeezing his eyes shut to try to trick his mind into seeing something else, anything, anything, but this.

His heart pounded in his chest, and his breathing got incredibly labored as he tried to get a hold over his emotions.

He was shaking. Bad.

He popped his eyes back open once he heard rustling, immediately regretting it realizing that the sound was only the movement of his brother wrapping his arm around the waist of his naked girlfriend.

This had to be a joke.

He let out a humorless laugh, as he paced around his bedroom carpet, slowly giving up on the hope of being able to reassure himself.

The last two years of his life flashed through him quickly. Samir knew he wasn't a bad boyfriend. He bought Anour'e everything he could and took her out as much as possible with school, work, and boxing on his hands.

He was very affectionate and patient and loving, he made sure they never argued and when they did he was always the first to apologize. he made sure he did good— that he did right by her always.

He loved her so much, he refused to communicate with other women even the girls that were at the gym and just trying to be his friend. He had plans with her in the future— he'd even spent almost $600 dollars on upgrading her promise ring to one she'd been talking about constantly.

"You know I love you."

He could feel his throat tighten, as his fist balled together. His eyes darting away from hers to his brother, whom wore a dead and nonchalant expression on as face as if to say 'great you found out, now let us finish.'

This was a first for Samir... feeling this kind of rage for his older brother, Ahmad, was something he'd never dealt with.

Ahmad wasn't a bad brother to him, ever. They had a cordial relationship, they would greet eachother in the morning, like each others post, ask eachother if they were ok every now and then and be sure to look out for one another when needed.

Samir loved his brother, even if they never told eachother verbally he thought that the feeling was mutual... that his older brother had the soft spot for him as he did.

"It just happened, babe" Amour'e said, raising the dark blue blanket Samir had laid over his bed, higher across her chest, so that she was no longer as exposed. "I just came over... I was waiting for you to get out of work and he was here and— shut up."

Although Samir couldn't decipher what he was feeling, the most prominent emotions were betrayal and anger, which is exactly what prompted him to cut off her speech.

"Amour'e on my life, you playin wit' me." He snarled, clapping his hands together to release at least some of his frustrations,"Don't come hea' and tell me no bullshit like you having sex— FUCKIN SEX WIT' MY BLOOD is some shit that just happened mane."
