TW- descriptive gore

Crash.
The sound reverberrates through the dark room, causing me to duck my head and cover it with my hands. Dust rises up around me, forcing a raspy cough out of my throat. A few bricks from the wall crumble around me, leaving a gaping black hole.
A loud, distinct thud sounds as a pair of boots hits the floor. I recognize the sound of those old, worn combat boots. Quickly, I lunge at the man who's wearing them. He doesn't hesitate to slide me behind him, pointing his gleaming sword at the man with the axe.
"Stay behind me, Laina," my brother's tone has a clear warning, and I don't even try to argue.
"So, the unbeatable Technoblade. Finally, I'll get to have a worthy opponent," the man with the axe rumbles, chuckling. He's clearly very confident in his fighting abilities, but I haven't a prickle of fear for my brother. I press myself into the wall, out of the way of the gleaming weapons. Not long after that, the axe and sword clash.
The fight is fast, and the only thing I can tell is that Techno is easily more skilled. The man with the axe man is knocked to the ground, along with his weapon. I wait for Techno to back off, or knock the man out. My gasp of surprise and horror is louder than I thought it would be when he stabs the man through the middle. Techno whips around, hand pressing against my mouth. He turns back and yanks his blood covered sword out before grabbing my wrist and shoving me towards his entrance.
I stumble forward, climbing into the hole. A narrow tunnel leads upwards toward light, and everything is forgotten in my eagerness to leave the horrible, underground cell. At least, everything but the fact that I just saw my brother murder someone.
I race towards the sky, desperate to feel a breeze on my face and breath in fresh air. Technoblade is just behind me, his hot breath on my back.
And then we're out. I stop, gasping for breath. Techno comes up behind me and turns, slamming his sword into the ground and collapsing our escape tunnel. He wraps his arm around my shoulder, "Come on, we need to move!"
Fast as deer, we speed through the woods. Techno is bigger and stronger than me, but I'm a very fast runner and I somehow manage to keep up. We sprint around trees and leap over fallen logs, unsure if anyone is following us but not wanting to risk slowing down to check.
It doesn't take long for us to reach a large draft horse tied to a tree. I recognize the horse easily as Drentin, the fastest horse in our entire kingdom. My little brother swings up onto the steed and holds out his hand for me. I take it, and he yanks me up behind him. I lean forward, wrapping my hands around his chest as we take off.
No one has exaggerated Drentin's speed and beauty. His lope is smooth, but faster than I would have ever thought possible. Everything about him screams power, strength, and beauty. And it's remarkable how long he can keep his pace up, too.
We reach the Winged Empire's borders quickly, and Techno doesn't even pause. We don't stop at the village, either. As we approach the small, sketchy square, guards try to stop us. "BY MY OWN AUTHORITY, LET ME THROUGH," Technoblade yells.
"We don't know who your authority is!" A guard shouts back, and a vein pulsing in his neck tells me that he's extremely annoyed.
"You don't?" I would have run from him, at the tone of my brother's voice. "Prince Technoblade. I have the princess with me, so MOVE!"
The guards jump aside in surprise, and we continue on.
A bit of a shorter chapter today, but hopefully I'll have another one out soon! Trust me, it'll make more sense soon on why I ended it here! Everybody have a great day, remember to drink water and sleep!
