Hello again everybody, sorry I haven't updated in so long! I've been working on other stories and preparing them to be published, so I'll have more content out soon guys! Also, I have a book book that I'm working on, and I'm trying to finish it. So updates won't probably be everyday lately, but I'll try to get them out as frequently as I can! Have a great day!

TW- Death, high emotions, blood, desciptive gore, relatively depressing

Noises penetrates my ears, making me cringe. They don't sound nice, loud screeching sounds that don't ever seem to go away. Voices, fading in and out. They seem to be calling my name, but I can never really tell...

"...Laina?" they ask softly, fading in and out.

I blink my eyes open, but they close again so fast that all I see is blurry shapes. A moment later, something touches me on my legs and back. A rush of air, and I'm lifted up into strong arms...

"...Laina....hear me? Please...up," the voice pleads. It sounds scared, but I don't know why.

It's so nice here, I think I'll just- NO.

I force my eyes open and see pink hair falling down a shoulder that my head is pressed against. Techno. I never thought I'd see him again, and for a moment joy fills me. "Tech-" I try to say, but my voice dies off.

My younger brother glances down and his eyes widen in surprise, "Laina, are you okay?"

"Y-yeah, I am," I cough, my voice still very raspy.

Technoblade's eyes widen in surprise, and he raises an eyebrow at me. "You don't sound like it," he points out.

"I can walk," I tell him, ignoring his words.

"No."

"Te-Techno!" I cough again.

"I said no. You're too injured, Alaina. I just found you on the ground in a pool of blood, and you have a slash across your gut about the length of my hand," Techno answers.

I try to look, but I break out in coughing again. I cough into my arm, and my sleeve comes back bloody. Techno twists me so my chest is against his, presumably trying to stop the bleeding. But, it doesn't work. I see it now, the blood soaking into both of our shirts.

My coughing gets worse, and I start to feel lightheaded.

"Techno," I rasp. He doesn't reply, he knows what I'm going to say. "Technoblade, put me down now."

"Alaina, you're gon-" he tries to protest.

I push away from him, "I don't care Technoblade, I probably will anyways," I cut him off, finishing off my sentence with another blood filled cough.

My little brother obeys, laying me down gently on the concrete. He immediately attempts to put pressure on my wound, feverishly trying to make it stop bleeding. I know it's not going to work, and he knows it too.

For the first time in a long time, my smile grows genuine as I look at my brother. I remember a time when he was able to fit into my lap, and his hair was brown. I turned his hair pink. It's an ability that I've never shown anybody, never even meant to do. I can change colors by will, turning them any shade I want.

Technoblade's calloused hand goes behind my back, propping me up slightly. "Techno," I start, wanting to tell him about my ability when I suddenly realize that he might want me to change his hair back.

"Shh..." he whispers to me.

I shake my head, "Techno I'm sorry I never told you," my sentence breaks as I cough, "but I was the one who made your hair pink. I...have an ability, I can change colors by will."

Technoblade's eyes widen, and for a moment I think he's going to demand it back to what it was and tell me how angry he is. But he doesn't seem to know what to say, "I..."

"I'm sorry," my voice is a broken whisper now, thick with tears about to choke it out.

He hesitates, "Can you change it back?"

I raise my hand and touch his hair, allowing it to turn back to its original color. This is how it would have looked if I hadn't changed it. "I'm sorry," I murmur again.

Techno looks down at me sadly, not accepting my apology. I try to draw a breath, and I can't. Immediately I break out in coughing, splattering blood on my brother's silky shirt. He shifts, propping me up higher. But I know it's not going to help, it's too late for help. I can't believe that my last words on this server are probably going to be I'm sorry.

I break out into a fit of coughing again, this one harder than before. When another one precedes it only a moment later, I begin to see black spots in my vision. I'm tired, so tired. Techno lays me on the ground and I raise my hand to touch his arm. He tenses, and I lower it. Tears fill my eyes, "I'm sorry," I whisper one last time, my voice barely audible. And then, as quickly as my life had began, it left.

-- 3rd person P.O.V --

"I'm sorry," Alaina whispers, her voice nearly inaudible.

Techno doesn't reply, doesn't know how to. She takes a choking breath, letting out one last bloody cough. And then, her body goes still. Her gray eyes are glassy and unseeing, devoid of the bright life that they once carried.

The color of her hair changes slightly, the small pink streak that matched Technoblade's hair disappears from sight. Her hair turns a darker color, a light brown instead of golden blonde. Her dress changes, the color fading to a dull blue. Techno's red iron ring changes to a normal iron color, and his shirt looses its shiny sheen.

Technoblade doesn't even say anything, just staring at the lifeless face of his sister. He's horrified, and surprised. The second she mentioned her abilities to him, he assumed it was the reason for her splendid beauty, and also that all of the nice gifts he got from her were just fake. But they weren't, it was clear that she didn't use the unique power very much. And then, the color of his hair darkens slightly more and he realizes that she's truly gone.
