Hello everybody, thank you for reading and have a great day!

-- three days after finally being allowed to leave Technoblade's room --
I finish packing my things in my bag, ignoring the knock at my door. Instead of the usual, elegant dresses, I'm wearing plain jeans and a gray shirt underneath a sky blue hoodie. My face, normally overdone with makeup, is pretty much plain except for eyeliner, eyeshadow, and blush. My newly colored purple, blue, and pink hair is pulled into a tight bun on the back of my head.
I swing the bag over my shoulder and glance up as Technoblade walks in, looking at me with surprise. I meet his eyes, and recognize the fear that rises inside them.
"Technoblade," I say softly, suddenly filled with pity.
"Please, Alaina, don't go," he murmurs, looking at me with pleading in his eyes. "It's torture, waiting for you to be injured."
I shake my head, "I'm not some little doll to be tucked in silk and kept in a chest away from the prospect of shattering. Technoblade, I can take care of yourself," I tell him. "I'm glad that I'm not in line for the throne, because Wilbur will run it better than I will. And, I have someone to find."
"I know, I'm sorry, Alaina," Technoblade replies.
I sigh, "I am too, Technoblade."
"Well, is this goodbye forever?" He looks at me questioningly.
I don't respond, glancing towards the window.
"Please, Laina?"
I look back into the man's eyes, "Yes, I think it probably will be, Technoblade."
Technoblade tucks a lock of his brown hair behind his ear, looking down at me with even more sadness. "This is my fault, I can't believe how bad of a brother that I've been."
"Don't beat up for yourself," I respond. "You did what you thought was best, even though it wasn't. I'll always remember you for doing what you think is right, Technoblade. Please tell everyone that I love them, and then move on. I don't want you to dwell on me."
"But you're family," Technoblade protests.
I smile at him, a real, genuine smile. "I have a different family, now, Technoblade. Princess Alaina is dead, she's not coming back."
Technoblade steps forward, wrapping his arms around me tightly. I hug him back for a moment, before I step back and nod to him. I fix a mask over my face, obscuring my identity. It's time for me to go.
Technoblade can only watch as I slide the window open and perch on the sill, looking back to give him one last salute. And then, I disappear over the side.
Technoblade runs to the window, and he sees my silhoutte disappear into the woods. He watches until I totally disappear, before he finally allows himself to slouch in defeat. But as he does, a lock of hair falls in his face. A lock of pink hair. He smiles to himself, allowing a single tear to run down his face before he wipes it off and sniffs away the rest of them. He pulls his hair back into a ponytail, ready for a new chapter in life. Ready to become the truest form of himself he can be. Ready... to become Technoblade.
I run into the woods, racing through the trees until I see a massive crack in a rock wall. A person is standing outside, and his eyes are filled with joy upon seeing me. "Alaina!" He gasps, opening his arms and allowing me to fling myself into him.
"Adam," I look up into my lover's eyes, finally in that moment coming to peace with myself. "Please, call me Alaynia."
