Hi guys I'M BACK AGAIN!! I know I said I would update four times a week, but that hasn't really worked out I'm really sorry. But I will still try and get an update out at least once a week, preferably more! Also, I just published my other fanfiction, called Atara Blade, and it would mean a lot to me if you went and read it!
Have a great day,
-- Ivy :)
I groan, coughing weakly. My chest feels like it's on fire, and I can't help but wonder if it might actually be. It's hard to move, and my eyes seem to be glued shut. I force them open, blinking in the brightened light around me. I'm lying in the exact same spot that I was before, and Technoblade is still there too.
"Techno?" I ask, but my voice is practucally inaudible. "Techno?" I try again.
He whirls around from where he's facing away from me peering through the rocky debris. My brother reaches my side in less than a second, I swear. "Alaina, I thought you were dead!" he gasps.
"I thought I was too," I agree, I struggle to sit up and his hand moves to my back to support me.
"Here," he says, and then he picks me up bridal style. Normally, I would either protest this or laugh, but this isn't the place or the time and I know that I'm in no condition to walk on my own.
Sure enough, pain flashes through my chest and I let out a gasp of surprise. My brother hurries forward through wherever we are. "Techno, where are we?" I ask, unable to remember.
"The same place we were before, in the Land of the Masks. I'm taking you home, clearly your protector isn't much of a protector," Techno replies, his voice vibrating in his chest. He pulls me closer to him, "I'm sorry."
"What?" The words are barely audible, but I don't understand why he would apologize anyways.
"I'm sorry," he repeats.
"You're... for what?"
"For doubting you, for thinking that you would use your power to have advantage over others," he replies.
I shake my head against him, "Don't apologize, Techno, I'm sorry."
"For what?" it's his turn to ask.
"For not telling you, for changing your hair pink, for-"
He cuts me off abruptly, "I swear if you apologize for one more thing, I will drop you right here and leave you in this castle. I forgive you, Alaina, it's okay."
"I..." That was certainly not what I had expected him to say. "Thank you, Techno, that's generous. You...uh, you don't have to... you know?"
"Alaina, you have not done anything wrong, and I know you. You're true, and good, and stronger than me and Wilbur and Tommy combined. And I swear, if you apoligize one more time for having a gift and using it, then I will actually drop you and leave."
At that moment, I'm overcome with a fit of coughing and I can't answer.
"What happened, anyways?" Techno asks.
I think back to what I was doing that got me stabbed. "Well... I had just escaped from the prison cell, and knocked out the guards. I was running down the hallway, not really trying to fight anyone but fighting if they got in my way.
"And then out of nowhere, this guy jumped in front of my path. I couldn't stop him and he got me with his sword. He probably figured that I was as good as dead, because then he just left."
