Broken tv

*Katie is 9*
"Ahhh Eva I'm losing!!" My person falls of the edge of the map and I frown. I hear Eva laughing through my headset.

"Haha Katie I won!" I pout but laugh slightly. We keep playing until Jay yells for me from the kitchen.

"Katie! Shut your game off! It's time for dinner and Will should be getting home soon." I groan and keep playing. "Katie! Off now!" I ignore him once again and keep talking to Eva.

"Yo Ev's I'm about to win!! One last tur- Hey!! Jay move I can't see!"

"Katie I'm not gonna tell you again! Shut the game off now!"

"Fine!" I say grumpily and throw the controller at him. He ducks and it smashes into the tv. I look at him then at the tv absolutely shocked that I just did that. "I- Jay I am so sorry!! I did not mean to do that!"

"Ooh Katie you are so grounded! Go to your room now!" Jay says angrily. I nod silently and trudge back to my room shutting my door behind me.

I flop down on my bed and start crying silently. I didn't mean to break the tv I was just mad he made me quit playing. I feel terrible! Why did I throw the controller at him? Why couldn't I have just obeyed..? I start crying harder and bury my head in my pillow.

I hear glass shards being moving and talking. I realize Jay is cleaning up and Will must be home. I groan  and sit up wiping away a few tears. I go into my closet and find my piggy bank with all my savings in there. I pull them out and count it. 55, 60, 62.. I sigh. That's not near enough  to pay for a new tv. I start crying again then grab my money and slowly make my way out to the kitchen where Will and Jay are sat talking.

I sniffle a little and it gets Will's attention. "Katie! What's wrong?" He looks at me worried before I burst out sobbing and he rushes over to hug me tightly. I bury my head in his chest and hold onto him.

"I'm sorry I broke the tv! I didn't mean to I was just mad Jay made me get off.. here's my savings and you can keep my allowance until a new tv is paid for.." I say while sniffling and wiping my tears away with the sleeve of my shirt. Jay makes his way over and starts rubbing my back. I look up at him sadly.

He smiles lightly at me. "Well Katie that is very mature of you. But this doesn't mean that your not grounded." I smile not expecting anything else and wrap my arms around his neck tightly while burying my head in his neck. He wraps his arms around my waist tightly and pulls me tightly into his body.

I peak over his shoulder at the dinner table to find it still set for dinner. I look up at his face with a small smile. "What's for dinner?" I say cheekily and they both start laughing. We make our way to the dinner table.

I grab a couple chicken wings and a handful of fries. We all eat in a comfortable silence. After dinner instead of complaining like I normally do I wash and dry the dishes without needing to be told.

When I'm done I go to the living room and see Will and  Jay watching the hockey game on the laptop. I make my way over and squeeze between the two of them snuggling into both of their sides. They look down with a smile on there faces and we continue watching. About halfway through the second period my eyelids start fluttering shut. I try stay awake but I'm so tired so I lay my head down on Jays lap and slowly fall asleep. 

*Jays POV*

After dinner Katie right away starts doing the dishes without complaining. I look at Will in shock but he just shrugs and grabs his laptop from his room so we can watch the hockey game.

We're both sitting on the couch watching the first period when Katie squished herself in between both us us and snuggles up into our sides. I look down at her and smile fondly. I see Will doing the same.

We keep watching and get to around halfway through the second period when Katie lays her head down on my lap. I pay no attention and keep watching the game.

"Damn that was one good second period man! Duncan Keith did absolutely incredible! Don't you think so Katie?" I get no reply. I look down and see her fast asleep on my lap while clinging into my shirt a little bit. I laugh slightly and nudge Will who is still going on about the game.

"Man those saves too thou- what?" I point at my lap and he looks down to see Katie fast asleep. "Ohhh" he smiles.

"I'm going to take her to bed." He nods.

"Alright!"

I carefully pick her up bridal style and carry her to her room. I pay her in her bed and tuck her in. I kiss her forehead before slowly leaving her room and going back to watch the game.
